Tyler glanced over the file Yale had just handed him, then put it back down and rubbed his temples. His eyes were clouded.
โKeep digging. Also, about that institution Mรฉlanie went to for that research project, look into it.โ
Yale was a little surprised. โYou mean the drone development project? But didnโt it get rejected for failing some review, or something?โ
โThe drone project itself isnโt the point. I heard that the institution required strict confidentiality agreements. Anyone who joins has to stay inside for years and remain completely cut off from the outside world.
โWeโve looked everywhere for her all this time and found absolutely nothing. If we rule out everything else, thatโs the only possibility left.โ
The idea had just occurred to him, but what really surprised him was the possibility that Rachel had that kind of technical background.
Just how capable was she?
He had spent so much time around her and yet had no clue at all. Who was the real master of disguise now?
Yale instantly caught on. โUnderstood, Mr. Hunt. Iโll get on it right away.โ
The two of them stood by the floor-to-ceiling window as noise rose from below. A crowd of reporters and angry netizens had gathered outside Lewis Enterprise.
Tyler felt a strange sense of dรฉjร vu.
Yale handed him a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
โMr. Hunt, I really didnโt expect Ms. Lloydโs return to stir up such a storm. The last time we saw something like this was when Mr. Lewis used her as a scapegoat. Now look, the tables have turned. Their roles have completely flipped.โ
A rare look of approval appeared in Tylerโs eyes. โI didnโt think she'd hit him this hard either. But itโs a clean shot, right to the heart.โ
Across the street, Lewis Enterprise had descended into chaos.
Security guards were struggling to hold back the crowd, while the protestors outside shouted louder and louder.
โCome out! Give us an explanation!โ
โYeah, you tricked the public. You owe us the truth!โ
โAnd that mistress, where is she now? Sheโs probably hiding like a coward because she knows sheโs guilty. If sheโs not, then why wonโt she show her face?โ
โExactly! Guilty conscience, thatโs what it is. Come out and explain yourselves!โ
โDisgusting. Using your ex-wifeโs divorce letter to play the victim, dragging her name through the mud when she wasnโt even around to defend herself. Is that what a real man does?โ
โThey probably conspired together from the beginning! Remember when they claimed Rachel ran off with some other guy? What a load of crap. Mr. Hunt has spent the past few years focused solely on work.โ
โMy friendโs got Howard on WhatsApp. He posted stories from abroad. That whole time, Gerald had shipped him overseas to study. He wasnโt even in the country!โ
โExactly! Damn! That means the whole thing was a total smear campaign. The timestamps on the photos and videos are real. Thereโs no way to fake those.โ
Chapter 360
โAbsolutely despicable! This is beyond a love triangle. This is the fall of basic morality!โ
Inside Lewis Enterprise, William sat frozen at his desk. He was surrounded by the constant blaring of phones. His landline and personal phone were ringing non-stop. His expression was dark.
The employees outside his office didnโt dare go in. They just kept trying to push the responsibility onto each other.
โYou go in first!โ
โLike hell I will! Didnโt you see Mr. Lewisโs face? He looks like heโs ready to bite someoneโs head off!โ
โSo what now? We canโt just stand here. This is a crisis!โ
โDonโt you think maybe this is Rachelโs ghost getting revenge? Wasnโt there a tumor โ she might be dead?โ
