The waiter came over and tried to usher Rachel to the side. โExcuse me, miss, please step aside for a moment.โ
Rachel wasnโt the type to make a fuss over small things, but the cashierโs attitude ticked her off. Seeing the waiter approaching, clearly intending to grab her, Rachelโs voice rang out with unmistakable authority. โDonโt touch me!โ
The waiter met Rachelโs eyes and, for some reason, felt an inexplicable chill. He didnโt dare lay a finger on her. From the corner of her eye, Rachel saw the rude cashier from earlier rolling her eyes again, and that was the final straw. Rage surged through her. She stepped forward, ready to confront the cashier.
โIf you keep this up, Iโll have no choice but to call the police!โ the waiter warned, trying to stop her. But Rachelโs imposing aura made him flinch, and he instinctively stepped aside.
Rachel strode straight up to the cashier. โIf you really think Iโm lying, then call your manager. Letโs check with the kitchen. See if those dishes were actually ordered or not. The truth will be out.โ
But the cashier still didnโt take her seriously and acted even more annoyed. She rolled her eyes at Rachel again. โI told you, our restaurant doesnโt make these kinds of mistakes. Youโre just looking to skip the bill.โ
Customers who frequented this restaurant were all rich. She had seen Rachelโs type before. They were usually not very patient.
โYou guys should just make her pay up and stop arguing. Call the cops already!โ
โYeah! Why should we all be held up because of one person?โ
โMiss, if youโre going to dine and dash, at least come up with a better excuse. Look at the expensive food on your bill. Even if the restaurant wanted to let you eat for free, they wouldnโt pick someone like you.โ
Rachel turned to the cashier again. This time, her voice was cold and harsh. โI said, get your manager. Now.โ
The cashier rolled her eyes at Rachel. โOur manager is busy. If you donโt have money and want to dine and dash, youโve got some nerve trying to pull it off here.โ
Rachel, seeing her attitude, pulled out her phone and started dialing a number.
The cashier saw Rachel making a call and assumed she was just contacting someone to bring her money, and so ignored her again. Just then, a well-dressed man walked out from the back.
โLiana Ferguson.โ
Rachel now knew the cashierโs name was Liana Ferguson. It was a sweet name, but it didnโt suit her at all.
Lianaโs expression instantly changed when she saw the man. โMr. Woods!โ
โI just got a customer complaint about the kitchen printing the wrong order and accusing a guest of trying to dine and dash. Is that true?โ
Liana walked over to him and pointed at Rachel. โMr. Woods, itโs that woman! Itโs totally her fault, but sheโs trying to blame the kitchen. Our kitchen never makes mistakes. She just doesnโt want to pay, and now sheโs affecting my work!โ
Wilson Woods looked over at Rachel. He seemed a little surprised. โAre you saying that sheโs trying to skip the bill?โ
โYes!โ Liana added, unable to stop herself. โDonโt let her pretty clothes and looks fool you. Whoโd have thought sheโd turn out to be someone like that?โ
Wilson looked completely exasperated. Without saying another word, he grabbed Liana by the arm and led her over to Rachel.
โMr. Woods, what are you doing?โ
Not far away, Cecilia and Yale finally noticed the commotion at the front desk and realized Rachel was in some sort of dispute.
