Her Exit 396
Chapter 396
Yale instinctively stood up. โWhatโs going on? Letโs go check.โ
If Rachel ended up being mistreated, Tyler would definitely hold him responsible.
Cecilia and Yale quickly made their way to the front desk.
Meanwhile, Rachel was in the middle of confronting Wilson.
โYouโre the manager here, right? Please check the surveillance footage. Your staff clearly didnโt serve caviar or lobster, but theyโre insisting we ate them.โ
โMy sincerest apologies, Ms. Lloyd. Weโll check right away.โ
Liana, overhearing this, looked at Wilson in surprise. โMr. Woods, youโฆโ
โDo you even know who she is? And you still dared to provoke her?โ
Liana was stunned for a moment. โSheโs just here for a meal. What, is she some big shot or something?โ
Even now, Liana still looked down on Rachel. Her eyes were filled with disdain.
After all, in a place like this, customers never argued over a dish or two. In fact, most were so concerned about appearances that they would rather pay extra than lose face by complaining.
Wilson snorted. โSheโs even more important than most of our rich clientele.โ
Liana was about to ask what he meant when someone from the kitchen ran over.
โMr. Woods, Iโm terribly sorry. It was our mistake. Weโve got a new hire in the kitchen today, and itโs been hectic. They accidentally printed the wrong order and added two dishes from another table to this young ladyโs bill.โ
โWhich two dishes?โ Wilson asked immediately.
โCaviar and lobster.โ
Lianaโs expression turned dark instantly.
Wilson, not missing a beat, snapped, โLiana, why are you still standing there? Apologize to the customer!โ
Still trying to defend herself, Liana muttered, โThat was the kitchenโs fault. My job is to collect payment. What does that have to do with me?โ
The chef immediately apologized to Rachel. โMiss, the mistake was entirely ours. Weโre very sorry.โ
โTo express our apologies,โ Wilson chimed in, โtonightโs meal is on the house. You wonโt be charged.โ
Before Rachel could respond, Liana muttered under her breath with a sarcastic tone, โWhat a scene for a free meal. If she actually had money, she wouldnโt care about a couple of dishes.โ
The second those words left her mouth, Rachel turned and walked up to her. Rachelโs gaze was icy and devoid of emotion.
โSay that again.โ
โI will! Youโre justโโ
But as Liana looked into Rachelโs eyes, the rest of her sentence got stuck in her throat.
Rachel let out a dismissive snort and stepped forward with undeniable authority.
โLet me say it for you. You were trying to imply I didnโt want to pay because I couldnโt pay. Why else would I care about a few dishes being charged by mistake?โ
Liana scoffed. โWell, thatโs what it is!โ
โThen how about this? Iโll pay the bill right now. Your restaurant can find another way to compensate me, but first, this cashier must be fired. And second, her behavior today must be publicly posted on your announcement board. Good luck finding work in this industry in the future.โ
Rachel was going to end this womanโs career.
Without wasting a second more, she retrieved a card from her purse and placed it on the counter.
โGo ahead and swipe it.โ
Lianaโs gaze landed on the card, and she froze.
This card looked familiar.
