Rachel had heard that Logan was known for being upright and unyielding, never showing favoritism to anyone. No matter how wealthy or powerful someone was, they couldnโt exploit any loopholes with him.
โHow arrogant,โ one of the two men muttered under their breath.
Rachel ignored them and picked up her phone to call Logan. The call lasted barely two or three minutes.
After hanging up, Rachel walked over to the two men.
โYour superior will be calling you shortly to explain the situation. Please continue questioning him here for now. Donโt take him away yet.โ
โAre you joking? Weโre acting under orders from our superior to arrest your father, and now youโre telling us not to take him in?โ
โDonโt interfere with official duties, or weโll have every right to arrest you too!โ
As they spoke, the two men moved to brush past Rachel.
She had no choice but to block them. โIโm serious. Just wait two more minutes. The call is coming any moment now.โ
โStep aside!โ
These two were used to enforcing the law and didnโt bother listening to her. One of them reached out to push past her.
Rachel wasnโt a match for the two grown men. She stumbled back a couple of steps, losing her balance.
But the pain she expected didnโt come. A pair of strong, steady hands caught her around the waist, stopping her from falling. A cool scent mixed with the faint aroma of tobacco washed over her. It was somehow familiar, as if she had smelled it before.
Sometimes memories just surged out of nowhere.
She quickly dismissed the thought. It couldnโt be. She and Tyler had barely interacted in the past, and she was certain it had been William who saved her from the fire. She hadnโt even known Tyler back then.
โYou okay?โ Tyler asked softly.
Rachel snapped out of it. โYeah, Iโm fine.โ
Tyler helped her stand upright. He then turned to the two officers who were still trying to push forward.
He reached out and shoved them back, his expression dark and unreadable. His cold, intense presence made it impossible to ignore him.

โEven if youโre here to do your job, that doesnโt give you the right to use force, especially against a woman.โ
The two enforcement officers recognized him. After all, there wasnโt a soul in Yurelia City who didnโt know who Tyler was.
โMr. Hunt, weโve tried reasoning with this young lady, but weโre on official duty. Please donโt make this harder for us.โ
Rachel spoke up again. โYour superior said heโll call you the moment he wraps up what heโs doing. Canโt you just wait two more minutes?โ
โWeโre here to enforce the law, not to give you people special treatment. Weโve got other tasks waiting. We donโt have time to waste here.โ
The two men tried again to push forward, but Tyler blocked them completely. His piercing gaze locked onto them, and he spoke with quiet but powerful authority.
โAre you sure you want to go against the Hunt family?โ
In Yurelia City, Tyler was a force to be reckoned with. No one dared cross him. Even the officers had to think twice, especially since there were rumors that his family had strong military ties.
Offending them could very well cost them their jobs.
But this assignment came from higher-ups, and the media was already watching the case closely. If something went wrong, theyโd be the ones taking the fall.
Once again, one of the officers said, โPlease, Mr. Hunt, donโt make this difficult for us.โ
