Chapter 462
Rachel was wondering why Tyler was home so early. Without thinking, she opened the door.
โWhy are you back homeโฆโ
Before she could complete her sentence, her gaze landed on a woman she had never seen before.
She took a deep breath to compose herself and asked calmly, โMay I know who youโre looking for?โ
Wilma surveyed Rachel from head to toe. โHow shall I address you? Williamโs ex-wife, the illegitimate daughter of the Lloyds, or Tylerโs illicit loverโฆ?โ
Rachel wasnโt angered by her first two options, since they were technically true. When she heard the last option, however, animosity burst forth from her chest.
โMadam, you might have misunderstood. I am Tylerโs girlfriend, not his illicit lover,โ she explained coldly.
Wilma scoffed, disdain filling her eyes as she looked at Rachel. She might as well have written โI despise youโ on her forehead.
โAny woman who gets involved with my nephew and tries to climb into his bed is his illicit lover. Just a plaything heโs interested in for the time being. Donโt think too much of it. He doesnโt actually like you.โ
Wilma strutted into the house, brushing past Rachel and not caring that Rachel didnโt invite her in. When she saw the spread on the dining table, she chuckled.
โThatโs quite some effort youโve put there, but itโs a pity Tyler doesnโt eat onions. Your effort will probably go down the drain.โ
With that, Wilma sat down on the sofa. The moment she did so, Ray started barking at her. Immediately, her face paled with fright. She waved her hands, trying to chase Ray away.
โWhose dog is this? How ill-mannered! Donโt you discipline your dog? Is this how it should be treating guests? Go away! Go away, or Iโll hit you!โ
Wilma picked up an ashtray from the table and flung it in Rayโs direction.
Rachel instinctively wrapped her arms around Ray, protecting him. The ashtray struck her on her back, triggering a dull pain that spread across her entire body.
Rachel winced, bearing with the bone-piercing pain.
Wilma didnโt expect Rachel to be so foolish as to protect a dog. How silly of the girl to protect a dogโs life when it was nothing compared to a humanโs!
Despite telling herself that, the consequences of her actions struck Wilma with fear. If anything bad happened to his woman, Tyler might very well pin the blame on her.
Wilma jumped forward to distance herself from the entire situation.
โYou canโt blame me for this. You lunged toward the dog when I was aiming for it. I didnโt mean to hit you!โ
Rachel took a while to recover from the pain, still crouching down. She took a deep breath before standing up stiffly.
Seeing Rachelโs pale face and the sweat beading on her forehead, Wilma realized that the ashtray must have struck Rachel quite hard.
Wilma had previously been bitten by a dog, which explained her phobia.
She sat up straight, justifying her actions without any traces of regret, not even bothering to apologize.
โThis clearly has nothing to do with me. If you hadnโt rushed forward to protect a dog, the ashtray would never have hit you!โ
Rachel didnโt expect to see such crass and boorish behavior from such a wealthy-looking woman. Her face was carefully expressionless, and her eyes were daggers piercing right into Wilmaโs chest.
Wilma was taken aback by Rachelโs aura. It was not something she had felt from any other woman, and she had seen her fair share of people in this world.
It sent a chill down her spine.
Deciding to cut to the chase instead of hiding the truth, Wilma said โIโm Tylerโs aunt. I heard that youโre now with him despite being Williamโs ex-wife. Weโll never allow a tainted woman like you to be with Tyler. Youโd better know your place โ donโt force us to be nasty!โ
