Chapter 489

Even Rachel thought that way about him, let alone the rest of Yurella City.

Jason clicked his tongue. โ€œSo youโ€™re really coming out of hiding now? Incredible. I have to say, Rachelโ€™s had quite an impact on you. You used to not give a damn about what people said.โ€

Tyler had always been the type to do whatever he pleased, completely unfazed by public opinion.

He scoffed. โ€œItโ€™s not the same. Theyโ€™ve already turned me into some kind of urban legend. If I keep hiding, who knows what kind of wild rumors will come out next.โ€

Jason nodded. โ€œAlright, alright. Iโ€™ll help fix your image tomorrow.โ€

After hanging up, Tyler returned to the bedroom. There, curled up under the covers, was a delicate figure peacefully sleeping on his bed. In that moment, it felt like the emptiness inside him that had existed for so long was finally being filled.

The next morning, Rachel received a call from Cecilia, who said she had arrived at Lloyd Enterprise.

Rachel was about to respond when Cecilia started speaking.

โ€œBy the way, you need to check online right now! Thereโ€™s news about Williamโ€™s uncle. Apparently, heโ€™s coming back to Yurelia City in a few days. Someone even posted a photo.โ€

Rachel was instantly wide awake. Without even replying, she grabbed her phone and opened the website.

The article was just as Cecilia had said. The photo, though taken in poor lighting, showed the back of a tall, slender man in a gray suit. He had one hand in his pocket, broad shoulders, and a narrow waist. His silhouette alone was enough to make people imagine a handsome face.

Rachel frowned and scrolled through the comments. She muttered to Cecilia, โ€œYou canโ€™t even see his face.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s a shame, yeah, but even just this one photo has the women of Yurelia City losing their minds! Yesterday, we were still saying maybe he was some kind of freak. Well, if thatโ€™s a freak, then heโ€™s my dream freak. Iโ€™d marry him in a heartbeat, even if heโ€™s a psycho.โ€

Rachel rolled her eyes. She knew Cecilia could be serious when needed, but when she wasnโ€™t, she was downright ridiculous.

Rachel reminded Cecilia, โ€œCan you have a little more selfโ€“respect? Youโ€™re experienced. Youโ€™re not going to fuss over a silhouette, are you?โ€

Cecilia took a deep breath. โ€œLetโ€™s put that aside for now. We can talk about it later. Iโ€™m already outside Lloyd Enterprise.โ€

โ€œOkay, Iโ€™m coming over now.โ€

Rachel rushed to throw on her jacket, only to realize she hadnโ€™t brought a change of clothes.

Worse still, she vaguely remembered being the first to fall asleep last night. She pursed her lips and knocked on her forehead in frustration.

How had she dozed off again? Wasnโ€™t she supposed to be the one putting Tyler to sleep?

If she went home now to change, sheโ€™d be late. But showing up to work in yesterdayโ€™s clothes? That didnโ€™t feel right, either.

Coincidentally, Wanda walked in.

โ€œMs. Lloyd, if youโ€™d like to change, there are clothes prepared for you in the wardrobe.โ€

Rachel blinked in confusion. She hadnโ€™t brought any clothes. Where had they come from?

Wanda had clearly anticipated her question. โ€œLast night, Mr. Hunt asked Yale to go out and buy clothes in your size. They should all fit.โ€

Rachel was surprised that Tyler had thought this far ahead.

He didnโ€™t even bring it up last night. When they were talking, she didnโ€™t hear him say a word about buying clothes.

She stood there a bit stunned, still trying to process it.

Wanda chuckled, walked over to the wardrobe, and opened it.

โ€œTake a look.โ€

Inside hung an entire row of womenโ€™s attire. They were neatly arranged and had various styles, but one thing stood out. They were all quite conservative.

There wasnโ€™t even a single backless top.

Tyler was such a conservative. Rachel was only pretending to be his girlfriend. Did he really have to micromanage her...
