Her Exit 52

Listen to this chapter:

Tyler couldnโ€™t even be bothered to look at Howard, who pounded the steering wheel when he saw Tyler blatantly ignoring him. โ€œHey, Tyler! Since you have the guts, letโ€™s see how long you can act all cocky!โ€ Howard roared. He stepped hard on the accelerator and continued racing Tyler, not caring about putting his own life on the line.

Rachel, seeing the crazed look on Howardโ€™s face, felt a chill down her spine. โ€œDoes he want to die?โ€

Howardโ€™s car was beginning to show signs of losing stability. Although the car was state-of-the-art, going past its speed capacity would make it tilt.

There was no sign of anxiety in Tylerโ€™s deep, dark eyes as he looked indifferently at Howard.

โ€œJust a bit more.โ€

Rachel didnโ€™t know what Tyler meant by that, but she had a feeling that this man wouldnโ€™t let this race with Howard go on for too long.

Getting involved in a car chase was something someone as reckless and brainless as Howard would do, not a shrewd and prudent man like Tyler. He wouldnโ€™t put his life on the line just to spite Howard.

Very soon, Rachel realized what Tyler was planning. There was a lane change up ahead, but she still couldnโ€™t figure out how Tyler was planning to shake Howard off.

Howard was so obsessed with the pursuit, his car kept accelerating and showed no signs of stopping.

Tyler suddenly said to Rachel, โ€œHold on tight.โ€

Rachel instinctively tightened her grip on the armrest and asked anxiously, โ€œWhat are you going to do?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™ll find out soon enough.โ€

Tyler suddenly hit the brakes; the car slowed down, although it was still zipping down the highway at a high speed. Suddenly, right as Howardโ€™s car came next to his, Tyler swerved to the left.

There was no time for Howard to react. Tylerโ€™s car hit Howardโ€™s car body at an angle, which rammed against the guardrails by the road.

โ€œDamn it!โ€

Howard slammed on the brakes, but it was too late.

Tyler shifted gears and drove back into the lane, stepping on the accelerator in one swift move. Howard was left in the dust and could only watch Tyler disappear in the distance.

Tyler slowed his car down and stopped it by the roadside. Rachel immediately unbuckled her seatbelt, hurled herself out of the car, and started vomiting.

If she hadnโ€™t been so nervous, she probably would have puked all over Tylerโ€™s car just now. For a brief moment, she thought she was going to see her great-grandmother in the netherworld.

Her mind completely blanked out with the threat of impending doom looming above her head. All she could do was stare straight ahead, fearing that a serious car accident might happen if Tyler failed to dodge the cars on the road.

Given the speed he was racing at, she would be killed in an instant if a car cut into their lane, or if their car hit something else.

By the time Rachel recovered, she realized that her knees had gone weak.

She turned around only to see Tyler leaning against his car, taking a long, leisurely drag of his cigarette and looking completely unperturbed.

At that moment, she found Tyler truly frightening, with his ability to remain unmoved even in the face of death.

A man like him was not one to be trifled with.

Howard, on the other hand, was reckless and brainless. He was bound to learn a harsh lesson when he eventually got himself in such hot water; even his own family wouldnโ€™t be able to bail him out.

Tyler was different. His astonishing level of control, indifference toward matters of life and death, and strong heart werenโ€™t something any ordinary person had.

She slowly approached him and asked with curiosity, โ€œIs there a huge grudge between you and Howard?โ€
