Upon Tyler’s analysis, Yale finally understood the situation.

Rachel turned to Yale, “But it doesn’t matter. We’ve been here long enough, and it’s about time for us to return.”

Rachel could feel her head pounding at the thought of the truckload of work waiting for her back home. On the other hand, home was much better than this place. Now that they had offended Jeremy and Sawyer, staying any longer here was risky.

That was exactly what Tyler had planned, too. He turned to instruct Yale, “Go get it done.”

Rachel and Tyler stayed in the hospital till seven in the morning. Rachel saw the dark circles under Tyler’s eyes and said, “We still have some time. Do you want to go back to the hotel for a quick nap?”

“No. I’ll head back to pack up. Go call Anne.” Tyler rubbed his nose bridge, feeling rather tired. However, he wasn’t one to rest when he wasn’t done with what he was supposed to do.

Rachel suddenly remembered that Anne was around.

Rachel and Tyler parted ways, the latter returning to his room to pack up while the former went to inform Anne about the change of plans. She was about to knock on the door when she heard Anne talking to someone.

“Sheryn, do you have something against Rachel? I’ve been observing her during this period, and she’s really not the kind of person you describe her to be,” Anne said.

Another voice shot back, “How could I be wrong about her? Anne, we’ve been friends for so long. Would you rather trust her than me?”

Rachel was stunned at the mention of Sheryn’s name.

Anne Charlton, Sheryn Lyons?

Why did these two women with no link to each other whatsoever know each other? In fact, Sheryn sounded like she knew Anne pretty well.

And why did Sheryn follow her all the way here?

Before Rachel had a chance to think further, Sheryn answered the question in her mind.

“Didn’t I tell you that Rachel would have no way of escaping Sawyer if you did what I told you? She was almost dead! As long as she dies, I’ll get together with Tyler. He’s what I’ve always dreamed of! I can’t see my dream shattered!”

Rachel’s eyes widened as she covered her mouth. What did she just hear?

Everything that happened tonight was not an accident, but premeditated. Sawyer didn’t just bump into Anne. Sheryn was the one behind it all!

Rachel stumbled a few steps back, fear rising in her throat as she thought back on everything that just happened.

Anne was such a good actress; she had both her and Tyler fooled.

Well, Rachel had to admit that she might be easily fooled, especially when the other party was very skilled in acting. Tyler, on the other hand, was a very careful man.

They suspected nothing and never expected it to be a carefully thought-out scheme.

Rachel also never expected Sheryn to still be obsessed with Tyler even after so long. She decided to tell Tyler about this before deciding on the next steps.

She was about to turn around to look for Tyler when she bumped into a hotel staff member.

“Are you alright, miss?”

“Shh…”

Rachel immediately put her finger to her lips, but it was too late.

Someone opened the door from inside.
