Her Exit 797

Listen to this chapter:

Rachel paused for a moment as she pulled the door open. Her voice was calm.

โ€œDad, the one you should be hoping for right now isnโ€™t me. Itโ€™s Yvette. After all, sheโ€™s the daughter youโ€™ve always loved most.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s not true, Rachel-โ€œ!

Jim tried to explain anxiously, but Rachel had already lost all hope in this family. Without looking back, she opened the door and walked out.

It wasnโ€™t that she hadnโ€™t tried. Even the smallest bit of kindness from them would have made her happy. But every time something involved Yvette, they always sided with Yvette.

This time, she gave up for good.

When Jim heard the door close, it was as if his heart had shut down along with it.

He still hadnโ€™t been able to earn Rachelโ€™s forgiveness.

With the documents in hand, Rachel wasted no time. She went straight to the company and immediately transferred several major projects over to Tylerโ€™s company.

The moment Yale saw the news, he called Rachel.

โ€œMs. Lloyd, we just received cooperation requests on several projects. Was that your doing?โ€

โ€œYes. I moved those projects. You can present them to Tyler openly. Heโ€™ll never suspect a thing.โ€

The previous international projects had been questionable. Not just Tyler, but anyone who looked closely would have found problems.

Now, these partners were local. Tyler already knew most of them, and more than half had worked with him before. There was no room for doubt. There was also no risk that their companyโ€™s reputation would be questioned.

Yale was stunned.

โ€œBut Ms. Lloyd, thereโ€™s one problem. If you give these projects to us, what about you? Lloyd Enterprise hasnโ€™t exactly been thriving these past years. Wonโ€™t this just make things worse?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s fine. Iโ€™ll bring new projects into Lloyd Enterprise later. Donโ€™t worry.โ€

What Rachel didnโ€™t tell him was that she didnโ€™t actually have many projects left. If she moved things around too recklessly, people on the other side would start talking.

The company wasnโ€™t hers alone. Strictly speaking, she had no right to do this.

But she couldnโ€™t think about that right now. The most urgent thing was to help Tyler survive this crisis.

She often said she didnโ€™t care if the Lloyd family went bankrupt. The truth was, Lloyd Enterprise wasnโ€™t only Jimโ€™s legacy. Her mother had poured her heart into the company, too.

For her motherโ€™s sake, Rachel couldnโ€™t just stand by and let it collapse. At the very least, she had to keep it afloat.

Yale was still uneasy and pressed her again. โ€œMs. Lloyd, are you really sure about this? If youโ€™re facing any difficulty, you have to tell me.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s nothing more to say. Just get those contracts in front of Tyler and have him sign them.โ€

Seeing she wouldnโ€™t budge, Yale had no choice but to do as he was told.

โ€œAlright. Iโ€™ll get it done.โ€

Yale walked into Tylerโ€™s office with the contracts in hand.

โ€œMr. Hunt, a few companies just approached us wanting to cooperate. Here are the contracts. Take a look, and if everything checks out, please sign.โ€

Feeling skeptical, Tyler raised an eyebrow. โ€œYouโ€™re saying that companies suddenly want to work with us right now, in the middle of all this?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s true. If you donโ€™t believe me, see for yourself.โ€

Yale set the contracts on his desk. Tyler skimmed through them and paused.

Lifting his head, he said, โ€œWerenโ€™t these projects handled by Lloyd Enterprise?โ€

At that, Yale lowered his gaze slightly.

Tylerโ€™s expression darkened. He slammed the contracts heavily onto the desk, furious.
