Chapter 798

โ€œSpeak. Whatโ€™s going on?โ€ Tyler uttered.

Yale thought quickly and came up with a reply.

โ€œIt was Mr. Jim Lloyd who gave us these projects. He said even if he didnโ€™t step in, Ms. Lloyd wouldโ€™ve found a way to help anyway. And since the Lloyd family wronged her before, maybe this is his way of making up for it. Plus, I think he knows that if something happened to you, Ms. Lloyd wouldnโ€™t have it easy, either. Iโ€™m sure heโ€™s well aware of that.โ€

Tyler leaned into the sofa. He narrowed his eyes and looked at the contracts in front of him. After a moment, he said, โ€œCheck for me. Whatโ€™s Jimโ€™s phone number?โ€

Yale blinked in surprise. โ€œMr. Hunt, shouldnโ€™t we sign the contracts first? We can always confirm later by phone.โ€

Tyler gave him a cold look. โ€œWhoโ€™s the boss here, you or me? Do you follow my orders, or do I follow yours?โ€

Yale immediately lowered his head.

โ€œYes, sir.โ€

He quickly found the number and showed it to Tyler.

As Tyler sat down to dial, Yale hurriedly sent Rachel a message to warn her what was happening.

Rachelโ€™s reply came almost instantly.

[Donโ€™t worry. I already discussed this with my dad.]

Yale finally let out a sigh of relief.

He had been terrified that if Tyler found out Rachel was behind it all, the man would refuse to sign. With the company on the brink of closing down right now, that would have been a disaster.

When the call went through, it wasnโ€™t Jim himself who answered. He was too weak to even speak for long. One of the maids relayed the message instead.

โ€œMr. Hunt, our master said these projects were given to you of his own free will. He asks for nothing in return, except that you treat Ms. Rachel well and never let her suffer by your side.โ€

โ€œOkay. Donโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ll never let Rachel suffer.โ€

Tyler felt grateful for what Jim did.

โ€œMr. Hunt, our master isnโ€™t feeling well, so weโ€™ll end the call here. But please remember, his greatest concern is Ms. Rachel. Weโ€™ll be counting on you to look after her.โ€

โ€œI understand.โ€

After hanging up, Tyler stared at the contracts for a long while before finally picking up the pen and signing his name.

โ€œAlright. Get things moving. Also, calculate exactly how much cash we have on hand. See if itโ€™s enough to cover payroll.โ€

He handed the contracts back to Yale.

Yale nodded. โ€œWith these projects added in, we should be able to manage payroll.โ€

โ€œGood. Handle it. And have PR deal with todayโ€™s rumors. Also, schedule meetings with everyone on that list. No matter how late it gets, I want to see them today.โ€

Excitement appeared on Yaleโ€™s face. He sounded relieved.

โ€œYes, Mr. Hunt!โ€

Finally, Tylerโ€™s fighting spirit had returned.

Just two days ago, when Yale heard that Tyler was ready to give up LS Enterprise altogether and follow Rachel elsewhere, Yale had been so distraught that he hadnโ€™t slept for two nights.

How could they throw away a company this big? He had followed Tyler from the moment he graduated from college, and he knew firsthand how hard it had been to build LS Enterprise.

What about the employees? Some of them had bled for this company, even risking their lives for projects. One man had nearly collapsed from overwork. If not for a last-minute rescue, he wouldโ€™ve been gone.

If those old employees ever found out Tyler was planning to shut the company down, how devastated would they be?

Yale knew hardly anyone could bear it.

Holding the signed contracts, Yale left Tylerโ€™s office and immediately sent Rachel a message.

[Everything is ready. You can rest assured, Ms. Lloyd!]
