Listen to this chapter:

Tyler rubbed the bridge of his nose and suddenly spoke, his voice calm yet authoritative. โ€œDid you miss something somewhere?โ€

Samanthaโ€™s brows furrowed, and she turned around stiffly. โ€œWhat do you mean by that, Tyler?โ€

โ€œDo you think Rachel wants to be with William, even if he still has feelings for her? How are you so confident about that?โ€

Tylerโ€™s face was dark. He smirked sardonically. โ€œDonโ€™t forget, Rachel is my girlfriend right now. Sheโ€™ll never be Williamโ€™s woman. Thereโ€™s no need for you two to discuss this possibility.โ€

Samantha shrank back upon seeing Tylerโ€™s piercing gaze. His aura was too intimidating, and she felt a chill down her spine simply looking into his eyes.

She smiled stiffly and said, โ€œOkay, I understand.โ€

โ€œSince you two are getting a divorce, please call me Mr. Hunt instead. Itโ€™s rather embarrassing to have infidelity in the Lewis household.โ€

Samantha blushed with anger at Tylerโ€™s words, but she pointed at William and spat accusingly, โ€œHe was unfaithful, too!โ€

Tyler burst out laughing and sneered sarcastically, โ€œThatโ€™s why you two ended up together. You two deserve each other.โ€ He took the chance to land a jab at William, hinting that Samanthaโ€™s betrayal was retribution for William. Birds of a feather flocked together, indeed.

William didnโ€™t dare to retort and simply hung his head low, looking despondent.

Just then, the doors to the operating theatre opened. William and Tyler rushed forward.

โ€œDoctor, howโ€™s the patient?โ€

โ€œMr. Lewisโ€™ life is no longer in danger, but his liver isnโ€™t in good condition. We need to do further checks and see if itโ€™s cancer. Weโ€™ll inform you once the results are out.โ€

โ€œWhat? Lung cancer? How could that be? Grandpa has always been in good health. How could he have lung cancer?โ€ William asked in disbelief.

โ€œDonโ€™t panic. Itโ€™s quite normal, really. Heโ€™s advanced in years, and such illnesses are common in patients of his age. Our bodies are like machines, after all,โ€ the doctor said reassuringly.

Tyler was calmer in comparison, having seen his fair share of troubles. Whatโ€™s more, falling ill was normal for someone at Thomasโ€™ age. As long as he could be treated, things wouldnโ€™t end up too bad.

โ€œDoctor, when will his results be out?โ€ Tyler asked.

โ€œIn about an hour. I can try to make it quick. Mr. Lewis also needs to be hospitalized and kept under observation for at least three days, given his advanced age.โ€

โ€œAlright. Thank you, doctor.โ€

After the doctor returned to the operating theatre, Tyler turned to instruct William, โ€œIโ€™ll stay here tonight. You two go back and rest. Rachelโ€™s father will be buried tomorrow. You can come back again tomorrow.โ€

William was stunned by Tylerโ€™s proposed arrangements. โ€œT-Tyler, did you say that you want to stay here tonight?โ€

Tyler looked at his phone as he texted Rachel. He glanced coldly at William and snapped, โ€œOr do you want to stay here instead?โ€

William quickly waved his hands. โ€œIโ€™ll do as you say.โ€ It wasnโ€™t a good idea for him to stay all day at the hospital. He wasnโ€™t even sure about his grandfatherโ€™s condition right now, and he had to head back to make the necessary preparations.
