“I’ll come over with William tonight to keep Grandpa company. It’s not good for you to be here alone, William,” Samantha chimed in anxiously.

But William said coldly, “There’s no need for that. We have servants in the house, and we can always hire a nurse if need be. Go back home. We’ll settle things here. Oh, yes. I’ll have someone send you the divorce agreement as soon as possible.”

At William’s mention of a divorce, Samantha shook her head repeatedly.

“I don’t want a divorce, William! I’m begging you! What happened before was my fault. I shouldn’t have acted so foolishly. I admit my mistake, so won’t you forgive me? I don’t mind that you’re infertile. We can always adopt a child. Many people do that nowadays, don’t they?”

William couldn’t hold back his laughter at Samantha’s suggestion.

“Adoption? To think that an idea like that would come from even you! The Lewis family has never handed the family business to an adopted child. You must be crazy.”

Samantha realized that William had really lost it. She shot him a look before pulling him to a corner.

“William, are you stupid? You’re not the only heir of the Lewis family! Your grandfather fell out with your uncle precisely because he had all his hopes on him. If it weren’t for Tyler’s stubbornness, Lewis Enterprise would have been his a long time ago. Do you really think you stand a chance?

“If you divorce me, you’ll be fighting the battle against the two of them by yourself. And given your infertility, do you really think Grandpa will leave the family business to you?”

William did consider that problem, but he had his principles.

“If I did as you suggested, Lewis Enterprise would be ruined in my hands. If Grandpa leaves the family business in Tyler’s hands, at least his child would have the blood of the Lewis family in him.”

Tyler took the Hunt family name only to resist his father’s education method, but in the end, he was still related to the Lewises by blood.

Samantha listened to William in disbelief. Even words couldn’t express her shock.

“William, don’t be so hasty to decide. What affection would Tyler have for you? He just wants you to give up your position at Lewis Enterprise. Are you really going to sit idly by and watch Rachel have a child with him and inherit all of your family’s assets?”

Samantha’s words triggered something in the depths of William’s heart, and a muscle twitched in his jaw.

Sensing that there was a chance of him changing his mind, Samantha heaved a sigh of relief.

“I advise you to think twice about this. I don’t mind you divorcing me, but you need to think it through carefully. Who would benefit the most from our divorce?”
