Chapter 828
Tyler had inherited Thomasโ intimidating aura. His presence alone was enough to incite fear in others.
William stood right there, unsure of what to do.
Tyler, who had been standing there silently all this while, spoke up.
โThe doctor said that you have to be hospitalized for seven days for further observation, so quit yelling. You canโt be discharged at this point. Itโs impossible.โ
He spoke with an air of authority that wouldnโt take no for an answer.
Thomas looked at Tyler with furrowed brows and pursed lips. The air around them froze.
His voice tinged with anger, Thomas snapped, โWho will take care of me in the hospital?โ
โWeโve discussed it. Iโll take turns with William. Heโll be here during the day, while Iโll be here at night. Iโll also hire two nurses, which should be enough,โ Tyler said, confident of his arrangement.
Thomas asked, โThenโฆ what will I eat? I hate hospital food.โ
Tyler had already thought of a solution for that. โHave the servants at home cook what you like. Tell me or William what you want to eat tomorrow. Itโs best if you can tell us the night before.โ
Thomas fell silent.
Seeing Thomas seemingly in deep thought about his next question, Tyler asked deliberately, โWhat other difficult questions do you have for me? Just say it. If you want, I can help you think of more troublesome questions.โ
Thomas, hopelessly seen through just like that, pursed his lips awkwardly.
โNothing else.โ
William stood by the side, his eyes widening. Did his grandfather just agree to stay in the hospital?
All because of a few words Tyler said.
Heโd be damned!
William thought back to how, long ago, he had said everything he could think of to convince his grandfather to stay in the hospital until his throat almost went hoarse. Yet, Thomas refused and insisted on getting discharged.
In the end, William couldnโt outtalk his grandfather and had to discharge the old man from the hospital.
Who knew that Tyler would be able to make Thomas agree to it so easily?
Indeed, it took one wicked man to deal with another.
William feared Thomas since he was very young, never daring to go against him. That fear hung over him like a shadow, and he would always give in without a fight.
Tyler said to William, โStay here during the day. Iโll come over to take over at eight in the evening.โ
โOkay,โ William said, nodding.
Before Tyler left, he said indifferently to Thomas, โIโm going off. Have a good rest.โ
Thomas lay back down on the bed without a single word. Tyler said nothing more too, probably used to such cold treatment from his father.
Samantha could sense the atmosphere between them and bumped Williamโs arm. โWilliam, letโs go get some water for Grandpa.โ
William thought nothing much of it and left with Samantha. The moment he left the room, his face fell, and he kept his distance from her.
Samantha could sense the change in him as well.
โWilliam, I shouldnโt be the target of your anger right now. Didnโt you see it for yourself just now? Grandpa wants to reconcile with Tyler. Donโt forgetโwhile Tyler has always kept his distance from the family, Grandpa still has him in his mind. What will happen to you if Tyler returns?โ
William placed the water bottle under the dispenser, his face indifferent.
โHe can return for all I care. The Lewises have allowed him to do as he pleased elsewhere for so long. He never needed to bear the glories or failures of the family. Thatโs not fair to him. If Grandpa canโt reconcile with Tyler, how can he pass away in peace?โ
