Chapter 867
When Rachel headed to the hospital and entered the ward, she saw tubes sticking out of Ceciliaโs body everywhere. There was even a needle on the back of her hand.
Rachel hated seeing something like this. Her entire body was shaking as she approached Cecilia.
โCeciliaโฆโ
Cecilia flashed her a comforting smile. โYouโre here. I heard from Yale that Mr. Ziegler just passed away. Did his relatives make things difficult for you when you two were there?โ
Cecilia was still trying to comfort Rachel amidst her own pain and suffering.
โYouโre such a worrywart. You should be thinking more about yourself at a time like this. Donโt bother yourself with my affairs. Iโm telling you, Dr. Elias is very skilled. Donโt underestimate what heโs capable of.โ
Cecilia nodded. โI know. Dr. Elias is famous in his field, and I heard of him a few years ago. He just happened to stop practising over the past few years.โ
Rachel tucked the sheets tighter around Cecilia and said tenderly, โDonโt think about anything else and just focus on the treatment. As for your children, Iโll hire two nannies to take care of them. If you want to see them, Iโll bring them here. Whatever it is, just take care of yourself right now.โ
Tears welled up in Ceciliaโs eyes at Rachelโs reassurance.
โRachel, Iโฆ I really donโt know how else to thank you. Youโve helped me out so much.โ
It wasnโt an exaggeration to say that without Rachelโs help, Cecilia would have died a long time ago and wouldnโt have survived till now.
โAlright now, thereโs no need to stand on ceremony with me. You helped me out many times at Lewis Enterprise. Each time I was on the verge of puking while entertaining clients, youโd always hop in to help me with it. That was how I managed to clinch so many deals and establish my presence in the company,โ Rachel said.
She could remember it as though it happened yesterday.
Once, Cecilia helped her drink so much that she started bleeding in her stomach. If Cecilia hadnโt been sent to the hospital in time, she would have been a goner.
Rachel would remember what Cecilia did for her for the rest of her life.
โThereโs no need to say such things between us,โ Cecilia said with a smile.
โSo donโt think too much and focus on your treatment. Iโll head out to talk to Dr. Elias for a while,โ Rachel said.
She looked up and tilted her chin at Elias, who also had something to say to her.
They walked out to the corridor.
Rachelโs face was dark and heavy as she took a deep breath. โDr. Elias, tell me the truth. Is Ceciliaโs condition not looking good?โ
Elias nodded grimly. โHer condition was diagnosed too late, and she probably realizes it herself. Thatโs why she kept delaying things and refusing to go to the hospital for treatment.โ
Rachel was trembling all over, her heart clenching with pain.
โWhat should we do now? Does she still stand a chance? Dr. Elias, no matter how much money or effort is required, Iโm willing to do anything as long as you can save Cecilia.โ
Elias comforted Rachel, โMs. Lloyd, donโt panic. Weโll first operate on her before sending her for chemotherapy sessions. Weโll use medicine imported from overseas. Iโll be discussing the most optimal treatment plan for her with the doctors here.โ
Rachel felt better with Eliasโ reassurance.
โThank you so much.โ
Meanwhile, Tyler rushed to the hospital to see Thomas. As he hurried over to the ward, he saw William huddled over by Thomasโ bedside.
William heard something at the door and turned to see Tyler. He stood up.
โTyler, youโre here.โ
Tyler steadied his ragged breathing and walked into the room. His face was cold and distant as usual.
โHow is he?โ
William saw Thomas pretending to sleep and gently bumped his leg.
โAlright, Tylerโs here. Quit playing dead.โ
Thomas lay on the bed, not moving an inch, so quiet as though he had fallen asleep.
