Rachel turned to look at him. “So you decided to be the bad guy instead.”

“It doesn’t matter who the bad guy is. The most important thing is that it’s all over now. The Zieglers probably wouldn’t try to help Howard escape punishment by the law. In other words, we’re not the ones who wish that Howard wouldn’t be released. His relatives probably want that more than we do.”

Tyler knew better than anyone else how deep grudges run within a family like the Zieglers. The moment he stepped into the funeral hall and saw the ambition in their eyes, he knew that everything would be fine for them.

Rachel finally understood why Tyler managed to stay so calm and unperturbed throughout.

“Why didn’t you tell me these things earlier?”

“How could I? Should I have whispered them to you in front of them all? I didn’t want to weaken the aura you were trying to exude.”

Rachel shrugged.

“It’s time for us to deal with Cecilia’s problem now. There’s nothing more for us to consider regarding Howard. He won’t be able to elude justice. No one can save him this time.”

She immediately called Jerry to ask where they were right now.

Jerry told her, “At the hospital.”

Rachel frowned. “Weren’t you at her house? How did she end up in the hospital?”

“Elias came to check on Cecilia. He said that she wasn’t doing well and requested that she be hospitalized immediately. He wanted to discuss the case with the doctors here and adjust the treatment plan accordingly.”

The light in Rachel’s eyes dimmed.

“Got it.”

Her face fell as she hung up.

“Tyler, come to the hospital right now. Grandpa wants to talk to you.”

Tyler’s eyes turned dark. “I have something else to attend to right now. Can I go later?”

“I think you’d better come now. He’s been asking to see you over the past few days, and his health isn’t in great condition. He’s very worried about you.”
