Chapter 878
Rachel thought about taking a hangover pill lest the potential business partner try to make her drink.
On second thought, Mark had always been reliable despite his careless and casual demeanor. Since she had asked him not to introduce a business partner who would make her drink, she was confident that he wouldnโt.
Rachel put the pill down and left.
When she arrived at Moon & Barrel, she spotted the business partner Mark had introduced her to.
He was Michael Johnson, the CEO of Achieve Enterprise.
โMs. Lloyd, itโs a pleasure to meet you,โ Michael said as he extended a hand. โMark has mentioned you to me a few times and said that you made Lloyd Enterprise rise from the ashes. Iโm glad to finally meet you after so long.โ
Rachel stood up and shook his hand.
โYouโre too kind, Mr. Johnson. This is an idea I came up with before, which is a great match for your smart tourism project. It features intangible cultural heritage education, passing valuable culture down to the next generation. It complements your green energy project well.โ
Michael took the proposal from Rachel but wasnโt in a rush to flip through it. Instead, he asked a waiter for a menu to order some dishes.
During their meal, Michael took some time to read through the proposal and occasionally looked up at Rachel to ask about some details.
โYour proposal seems very beneficial to our company. Conversely, it doesnโt seem to earn much for you.โ
Rachel smiled awkwardly. โTo be honest, Iโve come into some trouble recently and am in urgent need of money. Closing deals right now is pertinent for me.โ
Michael nodded with a pensive look. โI see. Thank you for being honest with me, or I would suspect something fishy is going on. As business partners, everyone wants to earn more money. Itโs rare to see a proposal promising small profits but a quick turnover.โ
โEverything is fine as long as there are no issues with the proposalโโ
Mid-sentence, Rachel felt a familiar churn in her stomach and clutched her lower abdomen. Her face turned pale.
Even Michael noticed, and he quickly put the proposal down.
โMs. Lloyd, do you feel unwell? Do you need some rest?โ
โNo need. Itโs probably because I didnโt eat breakfast this morning. So sorry, Iโve embarrassed myself. To be honest, due to an oversight, I caused my overseas headquarters to lose two hundred million dollars, which theyโre demanding I compensate for. Mr. Johnson, if you find this proposal acceptable, we can discuss the details. As for the fundingโฆโ
โFunding is not an issue,โ Michael said, cutting her off crisply. โAchieve Enterprise has an investment budget for smart tourism. The philosophy of your proposal is a great match with our strategy.โ
He picked up a pen and circled some parts of the proposal.
โBut I do have one condition. Youโll have to personally lead the team for me to feel reassured.โ
Rachel looked up at him in disbelief, joy filling her eyes.
She had thought it might be tricky to close this deal. From her previous experiences, potential business partners would always try to make things difficult before actually signing the contract.
The moment they signed the contract, they would have to put their money where their mouth was.
Michael saw the shock in her eyes and chuckled.
โMs. Lloyd, donโt look at me like that. Ability and sincerity are key in business. You have both. And with Markโs reassurance, I have no reason to reject you.โ
Rachel looked gratefully at Michael. โThank you, Mr. Johnson. Donโt you worry. Iโll definitely watch this project closely.โ
The meal went by exceptionally smoothly. Rachel never expected to close a deal worth 80 million dollars so easily.
After seeing Michael off at the entrance of the restaurant, Rachel was preparing to rush to her next destination when she turned around and crashed into someoneโs chest.
She looked up, her brows furrowed tightly.
โWhat are you doing here?โ
