Chapter 877

Now that the doctors were starting to work on Ceciliaโ€™s treatment plan, it was time for Rachel to think about raising funds. She had thought about it and knew that going around borrowing money alone wasnโ€™t a feasible solution. Who would be able to fork out two hundred million dollars at one shot? She didnโ€™t want to beg her relatives for money; that might only serve to embarrass her and nothing else.

She asked Mark, โ€œDo you have any contacts you could introduce to me? Of course, if itโ€™s a potential business partner, heโ€™d better be a decent person. I canโ€™t drink right now.โ€

Mark found her remark strange. โ€œWhy canโ€™t you drink? I remember you can hold your liquor quite well.โ€ He had seen it for himself. Rachel could drink enough to bring down three to four men.

โ€œWell, Iโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve been feeling some gastric discomfort recently. Somehow, I feel a little nauseous for no apparent reason.โ€ She didnโ€™t know what was going on, but guessed that it was probably a chronic problem that made her feel nauseous.

Mark said seriously, โ€œIn that case, you really should get it checked at a hospital and do a gastroscopy or something. Health comes first for people in our line, you know that.โ€

โ€œI know. Iโ€™ll go to the hospital for a check-up after Iโ€™m less busy.โ€ Rachel started retching, unable to hold the nausea back. Mark was alarmed by the sound Rachel made over the phone.

โ€œIt sounds serious. Youโ€™d better go to a hospital as soon as you can. Iโ€™ll look through my contacts and see if anyone fits the bill. Iโ€™ll text you their numbers once I have them.โ€

โ€œThanks. Do be quick, Iโ€™m running out of time.โ€ Rachel did a quick calculation and knew that she didnโ€™t have many days left. She couldnโ€™t afford to be sued by Hannha. If that happened, sheโ€™d be detained and potentially face a long, arduous lawsuit. How could she leave Cecilia alone without anyone else caring for her?

Mark knew that Rachel was swamped on all sides. โ€œDo you need me there to help you out with things?โ€

Rachel hesitated for a moment. โ€œNoโ€ฆ No need, I suppose.โ€

Mark had known Rachel for five years, and they had become the best of friends and partners at work. A sound from Rachel was all Mark needed to know what she wanted to do.

โ€œAlright, treat me to a good meal tomorrow afternoon. Take it as a welcome meal for me.โ€

Rachel didnโ€™t put up much of a resistance. โ€œThank you, then.โ€

After hanging up, Rachel got out of bed and washed up. She walked to the balcony and poured out some dog food for Ray and Sunny. They made a wild dash to their bowls and swallowed their food viciously. Rachel had the urge to laugh at the sight of the two dogs.

โ€œYou two look like weโ€™ve been torturing and depriving you two of food. Is there a need to eat so quickly?โ€ Ray and Sunny ignored Rachel, focused on finishing their food.

Rachel got changed into a business suit and was about ready when her phone buzzed. She glanced at it and saw a text from Mark. He was efficient as always. She immediately contacted the potential business partners. She knew that it wasnโ€™t appropriate to liaise with them via a foreign company. Not many local companies had reached the stage of being able to liaise and cooperate with foreign companies.

Thankfully, she had officially taken over Lloyd Enterprise. With Jim and Geraldโ€™s deaths and Yvette in jail, she had become the only heiress of the company. The companyโ€™s shareholders all knew that the moment she took over the company, the company was bound to grow by leaps and bounds. They naturally welcomed the move to make her the CEO of the company. Rachel was no longer closing deals for herself, but for her company.

The potential business partner agreed on Markโ€™s account to meet Rachel at Moon & Barrel, the best restaurant in Yurelia City.
