Chapter 884
It was pointless.
Tyler gently patted her on the back. โFrom now on, you donโt have to worry about the company or the remaining debt. Iโll take care of it. Weโve signed several new projects lately. Itโs more than enough to cover what youโre dealing with.โ
Rachel frowned. โYou want to use your companyโs money to cover my debts? I advise you against it. I donโt want your help.โ
โYouโre pregnant now. All of your energy needs to go to yourself and the baby.โ
Tyler rarely spoke in such a pleading tone. He only did this to Rachel.
Standing nearby, Xavier felt he couldnโt just watch the two of them go back and forth like this. He stepped forward and took on the role of a neutral mediator.
โWhy donโt you both calm down first? Go home, think it over, and talk it out slowly.โ He then turned to Rachel. โBut I do need to remind you, Ms. Lloyd. Due to your unique condition, this pregnancy wasnโt easy to come by. You need to do everything in your power to keep this baby.โ
Rachel froze and stood stiffly where she was. It felt like sheโd just gone from heaven to hell in an instant. She was pregnant, but the pregnancy was unstable. If she lost this child, having another in the future might get very difficult.
Still, she didnโt understand. โDr. Jenkins, I donโt get it. Iโve always been a little weak, but I never thought getting pregnant would be a problem.โ
Back when she was with William, children had never been on the table, but she had never believed the problem lay with her. Later, when she learned William couldnโt have kids, that only reinforced her certainty that nothing was wrong with her.
โDuring the exam, we discovered one of your fallopian tubes is blocked. Honestly, the fact that you conceived this time is already a miracle.โ
Rachel felt mixed emotions at his words. Still, there was something to be grateful for. She did get pregnant after all. She forced herself to think on the bright side.
Rachel smiled weakly. โI understand. Thank you, Dr. Jenkins. Iโll be careful.โ
โGood. Then take this prescription and get the supplements, folic acid and the like. Theyโre good for the baby.โ
Tyler reached out immediately. โIโll get them.โ
โNo, let her go herself. Walking is good for her. Later on, when the pregnancyโs further along, itโll make delivery easier.โ
Xavier pulled back the paper just as Tyler was about to take it.
Rachel didnโt think much of it. She took the prescription from Xavierโs hand. โIโll go. You stay here and talk with Dr. Jenkins for a bit longer.โ
โAlright. Take your time.โ Tyler watched her leave.
Only after Rachel was gone did he turn to Xavier.
โAlright, what is it you didnโt want her hearing?โ
โYou really donโt get it, do you? She doesnโt seem all that set on keeping this baby. If I hadnโt said what I did just now, she might have come back in a few days to secretly get an abortion.โ
Tylerโs eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Xavier.
โMan, youโre crafty as hell.โ
Xavier smirked and patted Tyler on the chest. โWell, I just did you a huge favor. Donโt you think you owe me thanks?โ
