Listen to this chapter:

Williamโ€™s heart fell as he gripped his phone tight. He remembered how he had designed Rachelโ€™s wedding gown, every stroke encompassing the love and expectations he had for their union. Back then, he kept promising her, โ€œWeโ€™ll hold our wedding after Iโ€™m done with this project.โ€ Eventually, he never gave her the wedding he promised. Hell, he even treated her so callously.

William saw the beautiful gown Rachel tried on and Tyler standing next to her, willing to go through every single dress in the shop for her. The smile on her face was etched with a sense of security that he had never seen on her before.

Seeing the loving couple through the glass, his throat constricted. He said to his business partner, โ€œApologies, letโ€™s head to the site to check things out. If you think itโ€™s suitable, we can sign the contract right away.โ€

โ€œSure.โ€

Once Tyler and Rachel were done selecting their outfits, they headed to a hotel they wanted to book as their banquet venue. In consideration of Rachelโ€™s state right now, Tyler had wanted her to get more rest. Rachel, on the other hand, took the wedding very seriously and wanted to do everything herself. Tyler couldnโ€™t outwit her and had to agree to it. After they were done discussing things with the hotel manager, the first thing Rachel did after they left the hotel was to vomit all over a trash can right outside.

Tyler saw how badly Rachel was vomiting, yet could do nothing about it. โ€œWhy donโ€™t we visit the hospital and see if Xavier has something to help with the nausea? As for the rest of the wedding preparations, you can either let me handle them or make the decisions at home while I check out the venues in person. What do you think?โ€

โ€œNo need for that,โ€ Rachel said with a wave of her hand as she took the water bottle from Tyler. โ€œVomiting and nausea are normal during pregnancy. Donโ€™t panic. All pregnant ladies suffer from morning sickness.โ€

Tyler was panicking, feeling helpless as he stood idly by, watching Rachel suffer. He had heard about pregnant ladies experiencing a change in flavor and taste preferences. โ€œIs there something you have a craving for? Something sour or spicy?โ€

The mention of food whetted Rachelโ€™s appetite. She turned to look at him. โ€œHow about oranges? The less ripe, the better.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll get them right away! Wait here for me, Iโ€™ll be back soon.โ€ With that, Tyler drove to the nearest supermarket.

Before Rachel could stop Tyler, he was already gone. Her shoulders drooped as she shook her head helplessly.

Pregnancy was a very normal event, yet Tyler was descending into utter chaos on his end. She had to find a time to talk to him about it. If this went on, he might go berserk before the child arrived. Her back was starting to feel sore from all the standing, and she started looking for a place to sit down. Just then, she saw Samantha standing right before her.

Rachel froze.

Samantha crossed her arms before her chest, not bothering to hide her animosity toward Rachel. Yet, when she spoke, she sounded meek as a lamb. โ€œRachel, what a coincidence! To think Iโ€™d bump into you here.โ€

She glanced at the wedding boutique behind Rachel, and realization dawned upon her. โ€œYou came here with Tyler to try on some gowns. Congratulations, you married William, and now, youโ€™re marrying his uncle. Your marriage life is exciting indeed.โ€

Rachel smirked and looked coldly at Samantha. โ€œYouโ€™re mocking me so blatantly. Not even bothering to put on an act?โ€

Samanthaโ€™s face twisted with anger, and she spat furiously, โ€œIf it werenโ€™t for you, I wouldnโ€™t have ended up like this! This is all your fault!โ€
