Chapter 110: Should I Carry You?

Bella crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe, asking casually, "What are you doing here?"

He hesitated. "Why didn't you answer my calls?"

She lowered her eyes. "I was watching a show, so I kept my phone on silent and didn't hear them. It's late. Aren't you tired? It's almost 100 degrees in Joville today. Aren't you hot?" Dominic had no interest in small talk. "Come back with me."

Bella looked up at him and gave a faint smile. "No, I'm fine here. I'll find some time to go back and pack my things. If you have free time, you can help me; I don't have much stuff, it won't take long." "Bella,"

His sudden, restrained shout was as intense as the sweltering summer heat.

She was fazed. "Why are you yelling at me? I can bear you just this time. I'm not dealing with this."

He gritted his teeth. "I thought we were fine before. There's no need for you to make things difficult. If there's a problem, just say it. I don't like guessing, and my patience has its limits. Don't push me."

A wave of bitterness surged in Bella's heart. "Fine? We were never fine, were we? You have boundaries, but don't I? When other women come, I have to make space. When they leave, I'm expected to come back. What am I supposed to be in all of this? Can you answer that for me? I've been wondering for a long time—what exactly am I to you?"

She knew asking this question would likely only bring her more pain, but she couldn't help it. Her emotions were running high. Dominic stared at her for a while, avoiding the topic. "Let's talk after you come back with me."

Bella straightened, her stance defiant. She spoke each word with determination. "I'm not going."

Without another word, Dominic unbuttoned his shirt cuffs, rolled up his sleeves, and simply picked her up, slinging her over his shoulder. She was startled. "Put me down!" [The promotional text for FindNovel.net has been removed as it is irrelevant to the story.]

No matter how much she struggled, he didn't budge. It wasn't until they were inside the elevator that he finally set her down.

Bella rushed to press the open button, but the elevator had already started descending. She looked down at her nightgown and bare feet, feeling frustrated. She had lost her slippers in the scuffle. Furious, she stood in the corner, refusing to speak to him. One thing was clear in her mind—she was not going with him.

Dominic glanced at her, curled up in the corner like a stubborn cat throwing a tantrum. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "If you had behaved, there wouldn't have been any need to be so angry." Bella glared up at him, and when their eyes met, she quickly looked down again. "You're such a jerk"

She wasn't good at cursing, and those words lacked any real force. They came off as harmless.

He suddenly leaned closer, lifted her chin with his hand, and looked down at her. "I'm a jerk? Did you just realize that today? I can be much worse."

With that, he bent down and kissed her, giving her no chance to retreat.

Bella's hands pressed against the wall behind her as his arm wrapped around her waist, forcing her to rise onto her toes. Not wanting to cling to him, she had to balance herself this way.

As the elevator reached the ground floor, he finally let her go. "So, are you walking on your own, or should I carry you?"

Bella, angrily shaking, stepped out of the elevator barefoot. But after only one step, he pulled her back and scooped her up again. "I'll carry you. The ground's dirty."

As they passed by other people, she blushed and buried her face in his chest. "Can't you put me down? Can't you act like a decent human being?"

Dominic's hand slid down and gave her leg a playful squeeze. "As long as you don't force me to act like a beast, I can be decent. What do you"
