Chapter 180: Thrilling Experience

The car shook violently before settling down. Soon, the car door opened, and the nurse Bella had seen earlier emerged from Lan's car. Her hair was disheveled, and her clothes were in disarray. Bella was stunned and quickly hid to avoid being seen. However, while hiding, she questioned her actions; she hadn't done anything shameful.

After the nurse left, Lan started his car. Bella planned to remain hidden until he left, but Lia arrived unexpectedly, nearly being hit by Lan's car.

Knowing Lia's temper, Bella had no choice but to reveal herself. "Lia, I'm here!"

Lia exclaimed fiercely, "Who was that? How could they drive so recklessly?"

"It's okay. It's someone I know. They just didn't see you. Let's go," Bella said, scratching her head anxiously.

Lan rolled down his window, his eyes gleaming with amusement. He likely suspected Bella had witnessed his encounter with the nurse.

Bella desperately wished the ground would swallow her whole, but she maintained her composure. "See you tomorrow. You can go now."

A smirk formed on his lips as he said, "You should try it with Dominic next time. It's quite a thrilling experience."

Bella opened her mouth to retort but found herself speechless.

After getting into the car, Lia asked curiously, "What did he mean by that?"

Bella shook her head, trying to dismiss the images she'd seen. "Nothing. It's hospital-related stuff you wouldn't understand."

This only piqued Lia's interest. "What kind of hospital stuff would involve you and Dominic having a thrilling experience?"

Bella was momentarily speechless. When Lia saw Bella wouldn't answer, she gave up. "Never mind. I promised to treat Leonard to dinner, but he's always busy. I hate owing people favors."

Lia remained unaware of Diane's previous studio visit, and Bella could only deflect. "Don't worry about it. He doesn't need a free meal; let it go."

Lia's eyes widened. "No way! I hate owing favors. Even though you helped us reconcile, I don't want it to seem rushed. Knowing I owe him dinner keeps me awake." Bella sighed helplessly. She knew if Lia knew the truth, she wouldn't insist on dinner.

After dinner, Bella drove home. Finding Dominic absent, she asked Sylvia, who explained he'd called to say he was working late and didn't know when he'd return.

Concerned about his injuries, she texted him from a doctor's perspective: "Your body can't withstand much tension right now. Come home and rest. The company can wait. Your health comes first."

Dominic didn't reply. Bella didn't care; she knew he'd ignore her for days. She didn't regret offending him; she wouldn't let him lead her into harm.

Near midnight, Bella heard a car downstairs. Pudding, her pet, rushed out, recognizing Dominic's arrival. Looking out the window, Bella saw him being carried from the car. She blanked for a moment before rushing downstairs. Dominic had been sent home after suddenly falling ill.
