Chapter 21: Are You Done Making a Scene?

Dominic looked down at Bella, his eyes devoid of emotion. In the morning mist, his figure seemed ethereal, like a divine apparition. "Are you done making a scene?" His voice was icy.

Bella's body tensed. Did he really think she was just causing trouble? She fought to suppress the pain in her heart and stood up, trying to explain, "I'm not—"

Dominic impatiently interrupted, "I don't want to hear it. I don't want to see you here any longer. Leave!"

Bella clutched her clothes, her eyes reddening. "Please, just give me two minutes. I just want to explain—"

She didn't realize how pitiful she appeared, perhaps accustomed to such humiliation.

Dominic's expression was one of suppressed anger. He was struggling to control his emotions. "There's nothing to discuss. I have no interest in your matters. I'll say this one last time: Leave!" He turned and walked away, as if staying longer caused him immense discomfort.

Bella went after him, but her legs were numb from sitting all night. She fell, scraping her palms. The pain was sharp and intense.

Dominic's steps faltered at the sound, but he didn't turn. She had thought his appearance offered a chance to explain, but he saw it as harassment. Indeed, what man wants to be disturbed while with another woman? The image of him with someone else weighed heavily on Bella, leaving her desolate and hopeless. Soon, the rising sun's rays pierced the mist, blinding her.

Finally, Bella turned and walked away into the morning light, disappearing around a desolate street corner.

In the hotel room, the woman who had spent the night with Dominic stood before him, respectful. "Mr. Miller, she has left."

Dominic lounged on the couch, legs crossed. His gaze was fixed on the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window; his brow furrowed, he seemed distracted. "Mm I see."

The woman bowed slightly. "I'll take my leave then. I've left today's schedule here. Please review it later."

Dominic waved his hand dismissively. [Remove the advertisement: "sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality."]

As she reached the door, she hesitated. "Mr. Miller, if you're worried about Ms. Jones—"

Dominic cut her off coldly, "She's not a child anymore."

Chapter 21: Are You Done Making a Scene? (Continued)

By noon, Bella returned to Miller Manor. Her situation was bleak, but the sun shone, and the breeze was gentle. She methodically packed her belongings. Sitting on the bed, she took out pen and paper.

For a long time, the pen hovered. She didn't know how to bid farewell to Dominic. Ultimately, she wrote only one sentence: "May the rest of your life be peaceful."

She left her bank card—containing all her savings—behind. Monthly transfers to this card would continue. This was their only remaining connection. Was this nearly twenty-year drama finally ending? She was leaving, starting anew, yet felt no joy.
