Listen to this chapter:

The Grant family cemetery was located a few miles away, up a mountain. Yasmin went to pay her respects to Jacob in the afternoon; by the time she returned, evening had fallen.

She quickly noticed a shift in the atmosphere, particularly among the women. The air thrummed with tension, and their demeanor toward her was markedly more cautious and respectful, devoid of their usual mocking tone.

Sensing Yasmin's suspicion, Jasmine took a bite of her cake and approached. She whispered, "Do you want to know what happened?"

"What happened?" Yasmin found Jasmine's sudden overture odd. Jasmine held up five fingers and said in a low voice, "I'll tell you if you transfer me five thousand dollars."

"Five thousand dollars for a single sentence? I don't do business with unscrupulous sellers," Yasmin replied indifferently.

"Hey!" Jasmine pulled Yasmin back. "Caleb gave me fifty thousand dollars last time! Why are you so stingy?"

"Last time?" Yasmin instantly recalled the restaurant incident. She had criticized Caleb's performance in bed, only to have it used against her shortly afterward. Jasmine had betrayed her!

"Caleb isn't good in bed?" Jasmine mused. "I could sell him some tutorial videos…"

"That's not necessary. He doesn't need that!" Remembering her past comments, Yasmin felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment.

"Just send me your bank account!" Yasmin, eager to silence Jasmine, transferred a thousand dollars, considering it pocket money.

"Only a thousand dollars?" Jasmine pouted.

"I'm still in school. I don't have much money," Yasmin lied smoothly.

"Fine." Jasmine looked around, then whispered in Yasmin's ear, "Caleb took away all of Uncle Paul's business because Aunt Sasha was bad-mouthing you earlier! It looks like Caleb loves you very much!"

Yasmin immediately recalled the conversation she'd overheard between Sasha and Vanessa that morning. "How do you know he did it for me? Perhaps it was because they were bad-mouthing him?"

"Bad-mouthing him?" Caleb couldn't care less about others' opinions. "No way!" Jasmine waved her hand dismissively. "My mom bad-mouthed him too, but Sasha was the only one who spoke badly about you. Look how things ended up. Nothing happened to my family," Jasmine said with a light chuckle.

Yasmin was speechless. How could Jasmine laugh about such a thing? She realized Jasmine was somewhat airheaded, but thankfully, not malicious. Yasmin's gaze fell upon Caleb; surrounded by people, he spoke with his usual composure. She found herself in a quandary.

Had he really done it for her? Was that even possible?

Later, as the crowd around Caleb dispersed, Jasmine grabbed a drink and approached. She held up five fingers and said mysteriously, "Fifty thousand dollars, and I'll give you exclusive updates on Yasmin's latest situation. It's a one-time offer. Don't miss out!"

"Caleb, transfer me—"

Caleb glanced at her and transferred the money without hesitation. Jasmine grinned. "Yasmin said she's broke. Caleb, you're so stingy. How could you not give your wife any pocket money?"

Caleb stared at Jasmine as if she were mad. How on earth had she concluded Yasmin was broke?
