Rebecca noticed Vespera was acting a little strange, but she did not probe further. “Let’s leave first thing in the morning. There’s no guarantee that we can find her.”
An idea suddenly came to Rebecca. “Think about it—what if Tina led the way for us? Wouldn’t it be great if we could catch her red-handed? That would solve everything in one go.”
Vespera chuckled. “Your imagination is a little wild, Ms. Snyder.”
Rebecca retorted, “Are you the only one allowed to have an imagination and not me?” She reached out to wrap her arms around Vespera’s neck before sharing the plan with her. “Tell me if it works!”
Vespera thought it over carefully. “Now that you put it that way, I think we can give it a try.”
“Let’s do it!” Rebecca finished the rest of her orange juice. “I’ll go and visit Ms. Kinsman now! Not only will we stick to our original plan, but we’ll give it an upgrade! Let’s give it our best shot and see if our plan will work!”
Rebecca put on her coat and left in a hurry. It was as if she were about to give Miranda a good beating.
Things were calm on Friday; Vespera even had the spare time to enjoy a slice of cake and have a cup of afternoon tea. Dominic did not show up at the company until 1:00 pm, with Gerard in tow. After that, he remained in his office the entire time and did not ask for Vespera.
Friday was the most relaxing day of the week for Vespera so far. Of course, Dominic had a date tomorrow. He couldn’t exhaust himself today.
After work, Vespera drove past a pharmacy. Upon recalling that she hadn’t returned the medicine she borrowed from Raymond, she entered the pharmacy to buy some stomach relief tablets.
