Dominic frowned, wanting to throw both of them off the private jet.

“Fine, fine! I’ll…est…okay?” Vespera saw how relentless Lake was, stubbornly trying to drag her into this embarrassing situation. In the end, she snatched the fruit platter away from him and began eating it.

Lake smiled indulgently at her. “I knew you wanted to eat. You’re always so contradictory.”

Vespera silently popped a grape into her mouth and neatly choked on it.

Back in Halewick, Tina was seething with rage after seeing Vespera’s post through Elena’s feed. Vespera was able to see Tina’s posts because Tina had intentionally shared them through mutual acquaintances, allowing Vespera to know about her affair with Lake. All the posts involving Lake had been carefully tailored for Vespera. No, Vespera was using the same method to turn the tables. This time, though, the roles were reversed. Vespera had purposely kept certain people unblocked, including a few of Lake’s friends’ girlfriends and Elena.

Elena had been the one to take Vespera to a club before, showing her Luke and Tina hanging out with his friends. Vespera suspected Tina had ordered Elena to do this; Vespera soon learned that Elena’s husband was trying to gain favor with the Sowle family, and so Elena had become a pawn in Tina’s game.

Elena would undoubtedly report everything she saw in Vespera’s posts back to Tina.

“I won’t lose to that bitch Vespera! Lake is mine!” Tina screamed, throwing things around her room in a fit of rage.

After being released from the police station, Tina was confined at home by the Sowle family, unable to leave. She kept calling Luke, but he never answered. In desperation, she snuck out to the Munoz residence, only to be kicked out by Felicia. Rebecca then told her that Luke had gone to find Vespera to reconcile.

This was when Tina lost all control. Her emotions were in total chaos. The Sowle family tried everything to calm her down. They scolded her, but nothing worked. She spent her days either crying or throwing tantrums, even threatening to commit suicide.

The Sowle family was now wary, not daring to push Tina too hard.

“Ms. Sowle, Vespera is just bluffing. Think about it. For the past six months, you’ve been the one by Luke’s side the most. If he truly cared for her, why would he have ignored her all this time?” Elena comforted Tina.

On the floor, the young maid, who had been sent in to clean and do odd jobs, had blood on her hands; she cried as she picked up the broken pieces of porcelain. Tina vented her frustration on the girl, forcefully stepping on her hand and pushing it into the shards.

Dena was startled by the scene. She gave the maid a look, signaling her to leave quickly. The maid hurriedly scrambled to her feet and stumbled out of the room.

Tina, on the bed, her face twisted with anger and frustration, heard Elena’s words, and her breathing steadied a little. “If he loves me, then why would he go looking for Vespera to reconcile?”

“Ms. Sowle, you’re still young, and you don’t understand men’s minds. A man might not love or care for his wife, but that doesn’t mean he wants a divorce. More importantly, it…”

Vespera, who first suggested divorce…

“…a man like Luke has his pride. How could he accept his wife dumping him? That’s why he went after her.”

“You’re saying he’s just angry that Vespera wanted a divorce?” Tina asked.

Elena nodded. “Exactly. To him, it’s not the other way around.” Like Luke, a woman like Vespera should be tossed aside and left to fend for herself. If a divorce were to happen, it would be him kicking her out. His attention is on Vespera. He won’t even answer my calls. What should I do?”

“You’re right! Lake must be thinking that way! But now…” Tina clutched Dena’s hand, looking to her as her last hope. Elena smiled slightly. “Ms. Sowle, I found out that their flight will land at the airport at 2:00 pm.”
