Chapter 183

“Honey, you didn’t really come here today to pay respects to Sheila, did you?” Whitney asked quietly.

Sharpson let out a cold snort. That had been his plan, but now it was completely ruined. He’d been too impulsive. He was planning to keep his cool, but for some reason today he just lost it.

“Maybe next time,” Sharpson said.

Whitney smiled and didn’t push further.

After the New Year holidays, everyone was back at work, including Anastasia at the design department. She’d just driven into the parking garage and was about to back into a spot when a Porsche quickly cut in and stole the space she was aiming for.

The driver got out – it was Narissa.

Narissa swaggered over to Anastasia’s car window and knocked. When Anastasia rolled down the window, Narissa’s voice shot up an octave with pure disdain. “Are you blind? Didn’t you see I had dibs on that spot? If you scratch my car, you couldn’t afford to pay for it even if we sold you!”

Narissa had her chin tilted up so high it looked like her eyes were in her nostrils. Anastasia was driving a modest electric sedan worth maybe twenty thousand – nothing special in Narissa’s opinion.

Anastasia gave her a cold look and said quietly, “Keep running your mouth and I’ll personally teach you how to use your eyes.” She brushed off her shoulder like she was flicking away dust. “Is all that garbage coming out of your mouth the class you lost when you cut me off just now?”

“I suggest you go get your driving school tuition refunded, since they obviously didn’t teach you to drive with your eyes open.”

“You…” Narissa hadn’t expected Anastasia to be so sharp-tongued. She was about to explode with rage. But while she was still trying to think of a comeback, Anastasia had already driven off, leaving her eating exhaust fumes.

Anastasia smoothly found another parking spot and backed in perfectly in one try.

Narissa stomped her foot in fury, gritting her teeth. “Bitch, you just wait!”

Not far away, Griffin Orlando turned to Cassian from the passenger seat. “That lady’s got some serious parking skills – fast and smooth. And damn, that mouth of hers is something else.”

Yinsen turned around from the front seat, giving Griffin a look that said you’re so dead.

Griffin was confused. “What’s with that face? You look like someone died.”

I’m basically holding a funeral for you, Yinsen thought. “Do you know who she is?”

“No clue. Do you?” Griffin was genuinely interested.

He looked at Yinsen expectantly.

Yinsen’s mouth curved into a mischievous grin. Last time at the restaurant, Cassian had played him, making him bring everyone to a private room only to find that Cassian had already left with Anastasia. So none of them had actually met her yet.

This time, he’d let Cassian handle the reveal himself.

“Ask Cassian.”

Griffin didn’t suspect anything and turned to Cassian. “So Cass, who’s the hottie?”

Cassian’s expression went dark as a storm cloud. “You interested in her?”

“Yeah, she’s pretty cute,” Griffin said, then suddenly felt the temperature drop around them and allowed nervously.

“She’s my wife.”

“WHAT?!”

Griffin nearly bit his own tongue off. He whipped around to glare at Yinsen, who was covering his mouth and laughing so hard his eyes had disappeared. If Griffin didn’t realize he’d been set up at this point, he’d be a complete idiot!

“Yinsen, you knew all along, didn’t you?!” Griffin said angrily.

Yinsen raised an eyebrow. “So what if I did? Cassian didn’t say anything, so why would I speak up?”

Griffin quickly tried to recover. “Cass, your wife is really… great.” He couldn’t exactly say she was beautiful – that might make Cassian think he was hitting on his friend’s wife.

“Bros before hoes and all that – I know the rules, don’t worry.”

Cassian said, “You talk too much. Let’s go play a round.”

Griffin’s mouth twitched. He had a feeling this was going to cost him big time.

Sure enough, on the golf course, Cassian got a hole-in-one while Griffin paid for everything, with the whole crowd cheering.

Cassian told Griffin, “Thanks for picking up the tab.”

Griffin’s smile looked more like a grimace. “Don’t… mention it.”
