“When the time comes, I’ll also announce that this company is officially yours.”
Grace’s voice grew closer and closer to Aurora. By the end, it felt as though she was speaking right behind her. But Aurora never turned around. After all, Tessa had helped Julian hurt her, and Grace was clearly still covering for her. How could she give her full heart to a mother like that?
Aurora only paused for a moment, then nodded and left.
Grace let out a sigh. Looking at the closed door, she couldn’t deny the pain in her heart. In the end, Aurora had grown distant from her because of that incident. But Tessa’s voice was already damaged beyond repair. She couldn’t bear the thought of her child suffering in prison. She just couldn’t.
Grace closed her eyes. Deep down, she had already made her decision. She didn’t know whether it was right or wrong, but in that moment, she had no other choice. Since the road had been chosen, all she could do was walk it through.
Elsewhere, Kenneth was still confused after reading the message. Why was Judy suddenly saying she couldn’t make it? That wasn’t like her at all. A woman as ambitious as Judy would’ve jumped at the opportunity to climb higher. That much was undeniable. And it was precisely because he knew exactly what kind of person she was that Kenneth found it strange. Something about those messages felt off to Kenneth deep down. Could it be that Judy was being threatened by someone?
He read through the message carefully and finally noticed the few words Judy had emphasized. In that instant, his expression darkened. Without hesitation, Kenneth spun the car around and headed back.
It was clear now – Judy was being threatened. It was too obvious for him to miss. Besides, they had already agreed to go abroad together, and Judy wasn’t stupid. She clearly understood what was at stake. There were far more opportunities overseas than at home.
On top of that, she had already started making arrangements for it. So how could she suddenly change her mind? Anyone who heard this would find it hard to believe. Kenneth drove back to the studio, a growing anger simmering inside. If Judy could be bullied even in her own workplace, what would happen?

Judy sat under Brian’s watchful eye, the veins on her temple pulsing. She kept praying silently in her heart, wondering when Kenneth would arrive. If he didn’t come soon, she might really be forced to cancel the trip. And that was out of the question – she had done all the prep work. To give up now would be no different from taking her life. Besides, Joseph was still waiting for her to take care of him.
