Chapter 1052

Although Albertโ€™s temper wasnโ€™t the best, he had always treated his butler generously. His pay and benefits had never been withheld. But now, even the butler felt Albert had changed. He still believed it was Grace who had driven him to this point. No matter who it was, being pressured under such circumstances would leave anyone feeling uncomfortable.

Grace looked over at Tessa, whose eyes were filled with panic. A pang of heartache welled up inside her. She assumed Tessa was simply too frightened. After all, Julian was the one who had once strangled her. She was just a defenseless young womanโ€”what malicious intent could she possibly have? And when it came to someone like Julian, he was nothing short of an enemy. Her fear was perfectly understandable.

Grace said, โ€œSince youโ€™ve agreed to hand him over for me to deal with, Iโ€™ll send people to search for him. Once we find him, I wonโ€™t be sending him back to your familyโ€“Iโ€™ll have him taken straight to the police station.โ€

Her tone was firm as she left those words hanging.

Albert, however, looked pleased. โ€œNo problem, no problem. You can take him straight away. I donโ€™t intend to acknowledge him any longer. Heโ€™s a useless man and keeping him around just irritates me. Besides, he did hurt your daughter, and that was our fault. Weโ€™ll make it right.โ€

Grace looked at Albertโ€™s sly, foxlike smile and found it laughable. She could admit she loved money, but she was far from being that desperate. No matter what, her child was still her most precious treasure. Otherwise, even with billions in assets, if there were no heirs, wouldnโ€™t it all end up divided among others?

Grace understood that well enough. What she didnโ€™t understand was how Albert could be so ruthless toward Julian.

โ€œAre you sure youโ€™ve thought this through?โ€

Albert nodded. โ€œOf course. I have no hesitation. If he dared to feign madness to deceive us, then he should be prepared to bear the consequences. Besides, this whole matter was his fault to begin with.โ€

Grace actually found herself persuaded by Albertโ€™s words. Seeing the certainty on his face, she said nothing more in the end. After all, he wasnโ€™t her child. Since his own parents had already made their decision, nothing she said here would change anything.

โ€œAlright, then Iโ€™ll send my people to find him.โ€

With that, Grace turned to leave. But Albert couldnโ€™t resist catching up to ask, โ€œThen, Madam Grace, about our cooperation with Walton Corporationโ€ฆโ€

โ€œI already said the current cooperation wonโ€™t be cut off, but thereโ€™s no chance for any future cooperation.โ€

Leaving those words behind, Grace walked away with Tessa without hesitation. She knew perfectly well that Albert was a selfish man, and by what heโ€™d just said, it was clear that from now on, Julian had nothing to do with them.

Upstairs, Carol, who had woken up, heard those words and was already in tears. She only hoped her child could run far, far awayโ€“so far that he would never come back for the rest of his life. This was a place that had brought him nothing but grief and disappointment; returning would have no meaning.

Albert watched Graceโ€™s departing figure and felt a wave of relief wash over him. At last, he had managed to send this troublesome woman on her way.
