Chapter 1221

Her mind was still stuck on Tessaโ€™s final words, which was why she had forgotten to ask her name.

Now, faced with Danielโ€™s sharp gaze, she couldnโ€™t even muster a defense.

Daniel said sternly, โ€œOur company doesnโ€™t need useless people like you. You do things half-heartedly, and your thoughts are on the wrong things. Tell me, why should we keep you?โ€

At his words, the secretary nearly collapsed to her knees.

She quickly begged, โ€œPlease, Mr. Lewis, it was my fault. I was careless, but Iโ€™ll be more careful next time.โ€

Desperate, she added, โ€œThis was my first mistake. Please forgive me, I promise it wonโ€™t happen again.โ€

Tears streamed down her face as she tugged her blouse slightly lower, almost without thinking.

Danielโ€™s eyes darkened.

She already had a striking figure, and this move made his throat tighten.

โ€œAll right, since itโ€™s your first offense.โ€ Daniel cleared his throat. โ€œGet it sorted and tell her Iโ€™ll be available tomorrow.โ€

โ€œThank you, Mr. Lewis. Thank you for letting me stay, for giving me a chance to keep my job.โ€

She stood up, but her legs gave way, and she fell straight into his arms.

Daniel caught her easily, her softness pressed against him, his body heating at the contact.

He hadnโ€™t expected her to be this forwardโ€”how had he not noticed before?

It seemed these new hires all had the same idea about him.

And if that was the case, why should he hold back?

Thinking that, Danielโ€™s hand slid over her curves.

The secretary gave him a playful, coy look. โ€œMr. Lewis, what are you doing? I still need to call her back.โ€

โ€œWhatโ€™s the rush? Let her wait.โ€

He leaned close to her neck, inhaling the sweetness of her scent.

Whoever Walton Corporation had sent, it clearly wasnโ€™t Aurora.

And if that was the case, then it had nothing to do with him.

So, what if he made the other party wait?

It wasnโ€™t as if he wouldnโ€™t respond at all.

He was going to meet them tomorrow anyway.

By then, it would be clear enough who it was.

With that thought, Daniel pulled the secretary closer, their lips locking in a lingering kiss.

Her eyes gleamed with excitementโ€”she hadnโ€™t expected to latch onto the boss so quickly.

It seemed her career luck was finally turning around.

Others had always said the boss was difficult to deal with, but clearly, they were just unwilling to seize the chance.

What she didnโ€™t realize was that those warnings had been sincere advice.

Danielโ€™s reputation in the industry was well-known.

Everyone understood his true character, which was why they steered clear of him.

They had only cautioned her in hopes she wouldnโ€™t end up getting hurt.

But she dismissed it all, convinced they were lying to keep her from striking it rich. Clinging tightly to Danielโ€™s head, she refused to let go.

His eyes burned with desire, and seeing how eager she was only pleased him more. It had been a long time since heโ€™d met a woman who suited his tastes so well.
