Chapter 1239
Megan truly couldnโt bear to see anyone disturb Aurora.
When Tessa heard Megan say this, she grew restless. โYou two may be good friends, but that doesnโt mean you can control everything about Aurora.โ
Tessaโs sharp words struck straight at Meganโs heart.
Grace said nothing, but she also felt that Tessa had a point. Even if Megan and Aurora shared a close bond, Megan was still an outsider, just a friend. Auroraโs life wasnโt something she could fully interfere with, and any decisions should be made by Aurora herself. Megan had no right to be involved. So, her actions now were nothing more than misplaced sentiment.
Looking at Grace, who remained silent by her side, Megan felt a wave of desolation. She gave a cold laugh and asked, โSo Madam Grace, you think the same way too? Youโd better just call Aurora out.โ
Grace looked as if she didnโt want to waste more words. It was clear she agreed with Tessa. After all, Megan and Aurora had no blood relation, while she was Auroraโs biological mother. No matter what, Aurora still owed her some respect. Blood ties were the hardest to sever.
Megan nodded, feeling deeply wounded by Grace. โFine, Iโll go get her.โ
After Megan went inside, Tessa leaned closer to Grace. โMom, I remember Megan wasnโt like this before.โ
Graceโs gaze flickered when she heard that. She felt Tessa was rightโMegan had once been well-behaved in front of her, willing to discuss things openly. And she had always been loyal to Aurora; even if she wasnโt the brightest, she had always shown deep respect toward her elders. But now, Megan actually talked back to her?
Could it be that because Aurora was no longer in Walton Corporation, the people around her no longer respected her? Thinking of this, a cold gleam flashed in Graceโs eyes. Her gaze fixed on the fruit trees in the courtyard, her eyes turning dark and cold. What a joke! She would never allow such a thing to happen.
When Megan went inside, Aurora was discussing the future plans for the studio with Ian. Sensing Meganโs low spirits, Aurora quickly stood up and asked, โMegan, whatโs wrong? You look so upset. Did someone make you angry?โ
It was oddโthere were only the three of them in the courtyard who knew each other. The workers were busy with their own tasks, so they couldnโt have upset Megan.
โAurora, your mom is here.โ
Hearing that, Aurora was full of question marks, not understanding what she meant. Megan thought for a moment and realized her words didnโt sound right, so she quickly corrected herself. โNo, I mean Madam Graceโyour mom came to see you.โ
โHow could she be here?โ
Auroraโs expression shifted instantly, her patience nowhere near what it had been with Megan. Megan muttered, โI donโt know either. But when she arrived, she looked like she came to interrogate you. She didnโt even treat me politely.โ
โItโs fine, Iโll go take a look.โ
Aurora reached out and rubbed Meganโs head. What was bound to come could never be avoided. Besides, between her and Grace, there was still bloodโsomething that could never truly be cut off.
