Chapter 1238
She wanted to see what tricks Aurora could possibly pull this time.
Now that she had brought Grace along, even if Aurora no longer cared about family ties, she would have no choice but to hand over the project. Grace only gave Tessa a glance when she saw her following and said nothing. After all, Tessa was the one who discovered the matter first.
Grace drove quickly to the courtyard house where Aurora was staying. During the time since Aurora had left, she had quietly been keeping an eye on her movements. She wanted to know whether Auroraโs life, after leaving Walton Corporation, was still going smoothly. Or rather, this young lady who once lived at the very top of the pyramidโwithout the companyโs protection, Grace did not believe she could still live as carefree as before. Looking at the courtyard, Tessa spoke with disdain.
โI canโt believe my sister lives here. Why didnโt she just stay in Walton Corporation? At least then she would have had a proper office. People would know she worked in a reputable company.โ Grace heard Tessaโs words but did not respond. In truth, she was thinking the same thing. After all, leaving behind her position as the rightful heir of the corporation, only to go out and start her own studioโdid she really think running a company was that easy? If it were, wouldnโt everyone be doing it? Grace let out a cold snort. She was certain Aurora could never pull it off. Renting this courtyard house on her own was nothing more than a show of defiance. In her eyes, Aurora was simply throwing a childish tantrum. With that thought, Grace strode inside with long steps.
Tessa followed closely behind. She was eager to see what kind of life Aurora was living now that she had left Walton Corporation. The moment they entered the yard, Grace noticed how neatly it was kept. It looked almost like a countryside guesthouse. Not only that, the yard had fruit trees, a small vegetable garden, and vines climbing up the trees, covered in colorful blossoms. Every corner and windowsill was filled with pots of flowers and plants. Each little sprout grew toward the sun, radiating vitality. Seeing this, Grace felt a flicker of surprise in her heart. Megan was sweeping inside the yard, and when she saw Grace arrive, she hurried over to greet her. โMadam Grace, what brings you here?โ The studio had been under search and setup for over ten days now, yet in all that time, she hadnโt received a single message. She had even thought Grace might have forgotten about her daughter. Especially with someone as proud as Aurora, if Grace hadnโt come on her own, she likely would never have lowered her head first. Megan understood that much very clearly.
But seeing all this left Grace with a sour taste in her heart. Along with it, her attitude toward Megan turned harsh. She gave her a cold look and said sharply, โWhereโs Aurora? Tell her to come out and see me.โ โMadam Grace, whatever you want to say, you can tell me. Itโs the same.โ Megan couldnโt bear to let Grace disturb Aurora. After all, Aurora had been truly exhausted these past days. The transformation of the courtyard had all been carried out by her alone. Megan was only there to lend a hand, while the larger direction had been built up bit by bit through Auroraโs perseverance.
