Chapter 1325
Right now, Lucas' main hope was that Aurora would agree to dinner for Meganโs sake.
When Aurora caught Meganโs pleading eyes, she had no choice but to give in.
Thinking it over, Megan had been threatened by Lucas tooโwhy take it so personally?
โLetโs go,โ Aurora said, holding the ice-blue roses. She nodded at Lucas, though her face stayed cold.
But in the corner of her lips, where Lucas couldnโt see, a faint smile tugged upward.
Megan caught the moment clearly.
She leaned close to Auroraโs ear and whispered seriously, โAurora, Iโm so jealous. A man as handsome as Lucas treating you this well? And I can tell heโs really trying to win you back. Maybe you should accept his apology?โ
โIt depends on how he behaves,โ Aurora muttered, anger simmering in her chest. โAfter all that time lying to me, and now just two days later Iโm supposed to forgive him?โ
Megan thought it over and realized she was right.
โAll right then, letโs not forgive him yet.โ
Besides, she wanted to see Lucas suffer a little.
But Aurora tapped Meganโs nose and said, โAnd youโyes, maybe you were threatened, but you still kept it from me all this time. What do you think your punishment should be?โ
โOw, I really know I was wrong.โ Megan tugged at her ears, surrendering.
Aurora gave her a sharp look. โCouldnโt you at least have given me a hint back then? And donโt forget, you were the one who introduced me to Lucas. Yet the two of you teamed up to deceive me. Well done, Megan.โ
โYou know how it isโLucas always threatens to cut my allowance. I never had a say in it,โ Megan said with grievance. โHe threatened me, how could my words mean anything?โ
โA hint, Megan. I meant a hint!โ
Aurora sighed, exasperated.
Even now, Megan still didnโt understand.
Looking at her confused expression, Aurora gave up.
Forget it. With her personality, sheโd probably help count the money even if someone sold her.
Better not to say anything more.
Otherwise, her already slow brain might only get duller.
When they set off, Aurora and Megan sat in the back seat, while Lucas took the driverโs seat.
In that moment, Lucas fully realized that of all people, never provoke women.
Sitting in the driverโs seat with Aurora and Megan in the back, he felt like nothing more than their chauffeur.
Yet neither Aurora nor Megan seemed the least bit aware of it.
Lucas sighed inwardly.
Forget it, as long as Aurora was willing to share a meal with him, it meant there was still room to make things right.
Sure enough, Desmondโs advice had its merit. Sometimes it really did need someone with experience to handle these situations.
Lucas' opinion of him shifted a little at that thought.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Lucas immediately ordered a spread of seafood.
Crabs, lobstersโthe works. His goal was simple: keep Megan too busy eating to talk, so he could use the chance to get closer to Aurora and clear the air.
The three of them sat together, with Lucas on Auroraโs left and Megan on her right, sandwiching Aurora in the middle.
As they ate, Lucas remembered Desmondโs words againโsincerity was the one true weapon.
