Chapter 1329

"Look, look, honey, see? She still doesnโ€™t realize her mistake." Eleanor let out a lazy hum and said, "Then make it two months." With that, she and Robert walked off arm in arm. Only Megan was left roaring in the living room. They had decidedโ€”this time Megan must learn a lesson.

Megan stared at her parentsโ€™ ruthless backs, on the verge of tears. She hadnโ€™t done anything wrong, so why were they treating her like this? When she was with Aurora before, she hadnโ€™t said anything out of line either. It only took her a second to guess who had started all this. It had to be Lucas telling tales to her parents. "As expected of my cousin, so petty."

Upstairs, Eleanor and Robert looked back at Megan still standing there, her face full of resentment. They warned, "Your cousin already called. If youโ€™re still this dissatisfied, be carefulโ€”weโ€™ll dock even more of your allowance in the future." At once, a chill ran down Meganโ€™s spine. She hurried upstairs, crying out, "Oh, my dearest Mom and Dad, please donโ€™t cut my money! I really know I was wrong. Iโ€™ll never get between Aurora and Lucas again." "I promise, if the two of them are ever in the same room, Iโ€™ll stay far away. I wonโ€™t meddle again. Theyโ€™re a married couple flirting. I have nothing to do with it." With tears and snot streaming down her face, Megan chased after her parents, shouting. But Eleanor and Robert had clearly made up their minds. No matter how Megan wailed, they didnโ€™t look back once. When Megan finally caught up, the door slammed shut with a bang right in front of her. If she hadnโ€™t stepped back in time, the door might have smacked her right on the nose. Megan rubbed her nose, comforting her wounded little heart. "Sorry, I almost bumped into you just now." She glared at her ruthless parents and shouted, "Youโ€™re both so heartless, be careful or one day youโ€™ll lose me!" But her powerless rage brought no response from them. They had shut her out of the room and had no intention of opening the door.

Only Megan was left standing at the doorway, raging helplessly, waving her arms at the door. But her parents showed no sign of helping her. Robert glanced at Eleanor. "Are we really doing the right thing?" Eleanor was indifferent, even letting out a cold snort. "And what if we donโ€™t? What happens when Lucas comes after us? You know what his temper is like. In front of him, we donโ€™t even have a say. Sure, weโ€™re relatives, but do we really have the standing to lean on that?" Hearing her words, Robert quickly came around. He leaned close to Eleanor, brushing his face against hers. "You really are the sensible one. Tell me, what would I do without you?" "Enough. Youโ€™d better start managing our daughter properly. If this keeps up, trouble is bound to come sooner or later." Robert nodded with a grave look. "Youโ€™re right. If she keeps on like this, itโ€™s no way to live. How can she be so clueless about everything?"
