“Alright, I understand, boss.”

Hearing Aurora’s words, Hannah finally felt relieved. It seemed she had misunderstood earlier.

Ian also looked serious, his face carrying a rare firmness. “Boss, I understand too. Don’t worry, while you’re away from the studio, I’ll keep everything in order.”

“With you saying that, I feel reassured.”

With that, Aurora got ready to leave. She still needed to meet with the production team.

Aurora drove to the Quinns’ to pick up Megan. But when she arrived, it was Eleanor and Robert who opened the door. Aurora asked in puzzlement, “Mr. and Mrs. Quinn, isn’t Megan home?”

“Ah, yes, she’s here,” Eleanor answered quickly.

“Yes, she’s still in her room sleeping,” Robert added right after.

Aurora glanced at her phone. Sure enough, Megan still hadn’t replied to her messages. Thinking of this, Aurora rubbed her temples. If Megan kept this up when she started working, it would be a real problem.

“Alright then, I’ll go up and wake her.”

Just as Aurora was about to head toward the living room, Eleanor called out to stop her.

“Wait, Aurora, hold on a moment.”

Aurora turned back. “What is it, Mrs. Quinn? Is there something else?”

“I heard about what happened between you and Lucas.” Eleanor’s words came with a touch of awkwardness. After all, it was an issue between the younger generation–what business did she have interfering?

Aurora halted, and hearing Eleanor’s words, she felt just as awkward inside. She hadn’t expected this matter to spread among the elders like this. Clearly, it must have been Megan who said something.

“Mrs. Quinn, I’ll handle this myself,” Aurora could only reply awkwardly.

“No, no, you’ve misunderstood.” Eleanor waved her hands in fluster.

This time, Aurora truly didn’t understand what she meant. She looked at Eleanor with confusion all over her face.

Eleanor quickly explained, “I just think that Megan has caused trouble for you two. So as her parents, let us apologize to you first. It was wrong of her, please don’t take it to heart.”

Hearing this, Aurora understood. Eleanor must have gotten the wrong idea. She answered with equal awkwardness, “Mrs. Quinn, don’t worry about me and Megan. Our relationship is very good, and things like this don’t affect it at all.”

“I know, I understand what you mean.” Even now, Eleanor still looked embarrassed, not knowing how to continue. Facing Aurora’s clear gaze only made her feel that whatever she said would come out wrong.

At last, Robert, growing anxious, stepped in to ease the tension.

“Aurora, my wife is not good with words, let me explain instead.”

Aurora turned to him seriously. “Alright, Mr. Quinn, please tell me.”

“The truth is, we just feel Megan may have disturbed you,” Robert scratched his head. “And since she’s by your side, we’re worried she might bring you trouble.”

Aurora finally understood. “Mr. and Mrs. Quinn, you don’t need to worry about that. Megan is well-behaved with me, and she’s helped me a lot too. You can’t judge things just on the surface. Deep down, she’s really a good child. Sometimes, you might want to talk to her more yourselves.”
