Chapter 1340
โAlright, letโs not talk about this anymore. Letโs focus on work. I believe youโll handle everything well, wonโt you?โ Aurora coaxed gently, her eyes brimming with warmth as she spoke to Megan.
Megan nodded seriously. โI know! Donโt worry, Iโll definitely handle it. I wonโt let the people around me down.โ
Seeing Megan regain her spirit, Aurora felt a rush of relief and happiness. โLetโs go then. Time to meet the production team.โ
โI didnโt expect you to get on a show so soon. I think Iโm even more nervous than you,โ Megan chuckled awkwardly, her expression a little stiff.
โWhat are you nervous for? Iโm not even nervous.โ As Aurora drove, she glanced at Megan in the passenger seat.
Megan bit into her bread, arms folded behind her head as she leaned back. โI donโt even know why Iโm nervous. Maybe because itโs the first time Iโve been around a crew.โ
โThereโll be more in the future.โ Aurora thought for a moment. โIf the response to this show is good, weโll probably get plenty more invitations for similar ones. So, my little assistant, youโd better get used to it.โ
โGot it!โ Megan silently made up her mindโshe had to catch up with Auroraโs pace. If Aurora kept moving forward and she stayed in place, what would happen then?
She didnโt want to be apart from Aurora. She was happiest when she was with her. From childhood, they had always been together.
Even though Aurora had always been smarter, always quicker to pick things up, Megan felt nothing but pride.
When she was with other kids, she could brag without hesitation. โSee? This is my best friend, my closest friend. Sheโs just that amazing.โ Megan had repeated that line countless times growing up. And every time she did, the other kids looked at her with envy.
Every day on the way to and from school, kids would gather around Megan, chattering about Aurora. Because of that, Megan always felt a strong sense of accomplishment.
As time went on, everyone came to know that Aurora always had Megan by her side. Megan became almost like Auroraโs mark of authenticity. Wherever Megan showed up, Aurora would definitely be there too, so people often turned to Megan when they needed something from Aurora.
Megan grew used to it, trailing behind Aurora, watching her back as she took step after step forward.
Only now did Megan feel a sudden blur of uncertainty. If she didnโt keep pace with Aurora, would she eventually be left behind? Would Aurora still want her then?
Even though Auroraโs earlier words had moved her deeply, Megan still felt a hint of unreality. After all, even Auroraโs own mother could grow estranged from her in the end. And she herself didnโt even share any blood ties with Aurora.
It was only now that Megan realized just how lazy she had been before. Only people walking in sync could stay together without drifting apart. If she didnโt start putting in the effort, one day she really would be left behind.
