Chapter 1339

Megan covered her head in grievance. "I don't know why, I just couldn't wake up. I set the alarm starting from six this morning, and now it's already ten."

"Alright, alright, as long as you’re awake," Robert said, trying to smooth things over.

Aurora didn’t mind. "I saw you didn’t reply to my messages, so I guessed you were still sleeping and came to get you."

Megan giggled. "You know me best."

"Come on, hurry up and get ready, we still need to head out."

"Yes, yes, don’t waste time," Eleanor quickly urged Megan to wash up, then turned to Aurora. "You know how my daughter is–thank you for always looking after her. If she causes you trouble, please bear with her."

"Mrs. Quinn, I’ve already treated Megan like my little sister. I’m used to her ways. Besides, being a bit muddle-headed also makes her pure."

The couple exchanged a glance, both seeing relief in each other’s eyes. Aurora thinking this way truly reassured them.

After Megan got ready, she hurriedly pulled Aurora away. Eleanor called after them helplessly, "Aren’t you eating breakfast before leaving?"

Megan waved back. "No need, Mom. I’ll be back tonight. I’ll definitely eat out, don’t worry."

"Alright, alright," Eleanor murmured, her voice softer now.

In the end, she leaned against Robert’s shoulder, eyes misty. "The child really has grown up. Now I finally understand what it means to worry when children wander far. And she hasn’t even gone far yet, but I already feel this way."

"Don’t worry. Aurora isn’t someone without sense."

Robert also worried inside, but he was more willing to let their daughter do what she loved, rather than keep her under their wings without growth.

When Megan and Aurora left, Megan brought up what her parents had just said to Aurora.

She scratched her head awkwardly. "Aurora, don’t mind what my parents said. They’re always like that. I’m used to it. In their eyes, I can never do anything right, so that’s why they reminded you so much."

"That’s not true." Aurora stopped the car and looked at Megan seriously. "If you think that way, you’re completely wrong."

"Ah?"

Megan looked completely puzzled, especially when she saw Aurora so serious. She couldn’t react for a moment.

"Aurora, what’s wrong? Why are you suddenly so serious?"

"I just want to tell you that your parents really love you. They only hope their daughter can live a better life, that’s why they said those things to me. More than that, they just don’t want you to suffer outside."

Aurora fully understood Robert and Eleanor’s feelings. "So even though what they said might have sounded like criticism, it was actually their way of protecting you. They want you to know that if you ever feel wronged, you can still go to them."

Hearing this, Megan’s eyes instantly welled with tears.

At first, she had never thought about it so deeply.

If Aurora hadn’t pointed it out, she probably would’ve kept foolishly thinking her parents were just putting her down.

"I’m sorry, Aurora. I misunderstood them."

Aurora lifted her hand and gently rubbed Megan’s soft hair. "No one is perfect. Realizing your mistake already puts you ahead of most people. And that apology…"

She gave a faint smile. "Shouldn’t be to me, but to Mr. and Mrs. Quinn."
