"It's fine. I'll go with you," Lucas said, his gaze soft as it rested on her. "As long as I'm with you, I'm happy anywhere."

Hearing that, Aurora felt a wave of warmth spread through her chest. She hadn’t expected him to agree so readily or to speak to her with such gentle sincerity.

There was no longer any distance between them; everything felt natural and easy now.

After being together for so long, Aurora realized how much more harmonious their relationship had become.

This was the life she had always wanted.

“Alright, then we’ll find a time to go,” she said. Since Lucas had agreed so easily, there was no need to refuse.

Being together like this felt right. What he said made sense–there was no reason to overthink it.

They were husband and wife, after all, partners in everything.

“It’s no problem,” Lucas replied. “Whenever you’re free, just tell me. I can always make time.”

After saying that, he didn’t hesitate any longer. He climbed into bed, pulled her into his arms, and held her close as they drifted to sleep.

Their bodies fit perfectly together.

“Alright, that works.”

With Lucas‘ firm support, Aurora felt at ease.

This was a good thing for both of them. Even though she still doubted her mother’s intentions, the fact that Grace wanted to see her meant there was still a chance for reconciliation.

And just as Lucas had said–deep down, she still longed for a mother’s love.

Whenever Aurora was with her mother, she always felt like a child again.

Even though she was capable of handling things on her own now, she couldn’t deny that having a mother still felt like having a priceless treasure.

She had always hoped to mend her relationship with Grace, but when it came to Tessa, she often didn’t even know what to say.

What she couldn’t understand was why Grace had to choose between them–why she would always put Tessa first and leave her behind.

Lucas didn’t understand it either.

Though Aurora couldn’t make sense of it, she was naturally reserved. Even when she felt hurt, she never confronted her mother about it. She simply kept her composure and stayed neutral, never demanding anything in return.

She didn’t like causing trouble for others; she preferred to handle things her own way.

Nothing could make her lose sight of her own path forward.

But now, things were different–Lucas had become part of that path.

At first, it had been hard to adjust, but over time, their rhythm had become perfectly in sync. Aurora found herself growing more and more attached to him.

She tightened her arms around him, her voice soft as she murmured, “Don’t ever leave me, okay?”

“How could I ever leave you?”

Lucas was slightly puzzled by her sudden words. Their relationship was so strong–why would she say that?

Could it be that Aurora, like him, still carried a hint of insecurity deep down?

A faint smile tugged at his lips. “Aurora, are you starting to get attached to me?”
