Chapter 320
The atmosphere had clearly calmed by the time they returned home. Wendy was sitting on the couch, eating potato chips. When she saw the two of them come in one after the other, she didnโt think much of it at first. She was used to them coming home together by now. There wasnโt much she could do about it anyway.
But the next second, her eyes widened in disbelief. What did she just see? Aurora was heading straight for the master bedroom. Why wasnโt she going to the guest room like she usually did? Wendy was just about to ask Lucas what was going on when she caught the look in his eyesโthick with desire. She clenched her fists but said nothing in the end. Things had already reached this point. If she spoke up now, wouldnโt that just make her look petty? Sure enough, a moment later, Lucas followed Aurora into the room.
Wendy tried her best not to think about it. But sitting there in the living room, she couldnโt help glancing at the closed bedroom door again and again. After living here so long, Aurora and Lucas had come to treat her as if she were invisible, like she was just part of the furniture. Wendy couldnโt stand the humiliation, but when she thought of Lucasโ handsome face and the power he carried, she quickly convinced herself it was worth enduring.
As long as she could win Lucas over, everything she suffered now would be nothing. She kept telling herself that over and over again. โItโs fine. Let them sleep together. It doesnโt matter.โ After all, in the end, Lucas would be hers.
โLet them sleep together whenever they want.โ
Wendy kept telling herself that. But no matter how many times she repeated it, a sense of injustice still simmered beneath the surface. They were childhood sweethearts. So why, in the end, did Lukey choose Aurora? Wendy took a deep breath. The smug look on Auroraโs face only made her heart churn harder with resentment. Finally, she turned and went back to her room, already planning her next move.
Inside the master bedroom, Aurora felt nothing at all toward Wendy anymore. After seeing her for so long, Aurora had come to understand one thing clearlyโWendy was an airhead. She had no real depth or abilityโjust a naive, ornamental girl with nothing beneath the surface.
After washing up, Aurora lay down on the bed. She no longer minded sharing it with Lucas. They were legally married, after all. So, she might as well enjoy the perks. With that thought in mind, she began to accept Lucasโ attentions without guilt. The two of them lost themselves in the primal rhythm of passion. Lucasโ eyes lit up with a spark of hope. Did this mean Aurora was starting to forgive him? With that in mind, he poured more effort into every movement, determined to make her feel even better.
Sure enough, Auroraโs lashes fluttered as pleasure washed over her, her beautiful eyes narrowing in bliss. She tried to keep her eyes open, to focus on the man above her, but her mind went blank, her whole body relaxing completely. In the end, the two of them lay there, wrapped in each otherโs arms, catching their breath.
As Aurora thought back to the events of the dinner party, a faint smile tugged at her lips. Maybe she could allow herself to trust Lucas a little, just this once, even if he still had secrets. She had to admit, the man was undeniably impressive. With that thought, Aurora leaned in close, her voice brushing against his ear.
โWant to go another round?โ
