Chapter 506

But why did it still feel like Grace preferred her more?

Tessa wasnโ€™t sure if it was just her imagination, but sometimes it seemed that way.

In the end, she stopped dwelling on it.

Her eyes flashed with determination.

This wasnโ€™t the time to get lost in feelings.

What mattered now was pushing Julian to move forward with the next step.

After all, Arnold was stubborn.

If he didnโ€™t see something with his own eyes, he would never let it go.

With that thought, Tessa sent Julian a message.

โ€œMove faster. My mom already knows about Auroraโ€™s coma. If she gets transferred to another hospital, itโ€™ll be a lot harder to tamper with anything afterward.โ€

Seeing the message, Julian quickened his pace as he got dressed.

He had to rush to the hospital and get the doctors on the same page.

He couldnโ€™t let them transfer Aurora.

Julian arrived at the hospital just in time, beating Arnold there by a few minutes.

As he stepped into the main lobby, Arnold followed right behind.

Julian spotted him immediately, eyes darkening, and made his way swiftly toward the surgical directorโ€™s office.

He already knew which room Aurora was in, so his movements were quick and direct.

Arnold, on the other hand, arrived without any details. All he knew was that she was at First Light Hospital.

Everything else, heโ€™d have to figure out on his own.

That delay allowed Julian to reach the office first.

When the doctor saw Julian, he was momentarily surprised.

After all, he recognized him as the heir from Hayes Enterprises.

โ€œMr. Hayes, what brings you here?โ€

Julian didnโ€™t waste time. โ€œWhen Auroraโ€™s family shows up, just tell them the truth about her condition.

โ€œAlso, say that itโ€™s nothing serious. She hasnโ€™t woken up because sheโ€™s too exhausted, thatโ€™s all. Thereโ€™s no other cause. Make sure they donโ€™t even think about transferring her.โ€

โ€œWhyโ€™s that?โ€

The director didnโ€™t quite understand what Julian was getting at.

Reporting the facts was fine.

After all, they were doctors.

The principle of compassion in medicine was like a life mantraโ€“something he held onto constantly.

But the rest of what Julian had saidโ€ฆ

Though he understood every word individually, put together, it didnโ€™t quite make sense.

Too exhausted?

If he remembered correctly, wasnโ€™t this patient just suffering from gastroenteritis?

And she had only been admitted last nightโ€“why hadnโ€™t she woken up yet?

โ€œThisโ€ฆโ€

The doctor hesitated.

This was starting to conflict with his basic principles as a medical professional.

Seeing his hesitation, Julianโ€™s eyes narrowed. โ€œWhatโ€™s that look? Are you refusing me?โ€

โ€œNo, no, not at all.โ€

The doctor didnโ€™t dare offend Julian.

After all, he was the heir of the largest medical conglomerate, while the doctor was just a department head.

He knew where he stood.

But being asked to lie like this, especially when it could hurt someone, gave him pause.

โ€œMr. Hayes, may I askโ€ฆ why exactly are we doing this?โ€

Julian watched the manโ€™s timid demeanor with satisfaction.

That was exactly how it should be.

People should treat him with a mixture of fear and respect.

After all, he was the heir to Hunt Enterprises.

Facing this doctor, the self-esteem Julian had been losing under Tessaโ€™s criticism came flooding back.

โ€œYou donโ€™t need to know that much. If you want to keep your title, keep being respected in this hospital, then youโ€™ll do as youโ€™re told.โ€
