Chapter 505
Grace smiled gently. โI know, youโre a good girl.โ
Tessa gave her a quick hug and went upstairs.
Once her figure disappeared on the second floor, Arnold finally couldnโt hold back.
โMadam, why didnโt you tell Miss Tessa that Miss Aurora is unconscious in the hospital?โ
In front of the butler, Grace seemed to let down all her burdens, exhaling deeply.
โYou donโt understand. One more person knowing wonโt help anything.โ
She looked conflicted. โBesides, even if Tessa knew, it wouldnโt change anything. What matters most right now is figuring out what caused Aurora to fall unconscious.โ
Arnold thought for a moment and realized she was right.
Even if Tessa found out, she wouldnโt be able to help.
It would only add one more person to worry about.
It wouldnโt accomplish much.
โAlright then, Madam. If thereโs anything you need me to do, just say the word.โ
Grace nodded. โGo to First Light Hospital and have them do a full-body examination for Aurora. We need to know exactly whatโs going on.โ
โUnderstood. Iโll take care of it right away.โ
Without delay, Arnold left to drive to the hospital.
The worry on Graceโs face, however, didnโt fade.
She couldnโt help but clench her hands, anxiety washing over her.
Had she put too much pressure on Aurora?
That child had always been so sensible.
While she herself was unwell these days, Aurora had taken on everything, inside and out.
And she was still just a girl in her twenties.
Thinking that, Graceโs grip tightened, her heart aching even more.
It was true that she had been too strict with Aurora.
Once she woke up this time, Grace made a firm decision.
She would give her more freedom, and not keep her confined within the company any longer.
Grace gave her whole life to the company and married a man who didnโt love her.
She didnโt want her children to live that kind of life.
Thinking of her husbandโthat ridiculous marriageโGraceโs hands clenched tighter.
If it hadnโt been for that man, for William Walton, she wouldnโt have been trapped in Walton Corporation all these years.
Her entire life had been sacrificed for the company.
Yet that man never saw her worth.
Grace closed her eyes. Her life had been nothing short of tragic.
But the children were innocent.
Still, between Aurora and Tessa, she had always favored Tessa, even though Aurora was her biological daughter.
With a sigh, Grace finally turned and walked toward her room.
She needed to use this quiet time to think carefully about what lay ahead.
She couldnโt keep drifting aimlessly anymore.
Once the door closed behind her, and the sound of it echoed faintly, Tessa stepped out from the corner of the second-floor hallway, her expression unreadable.
So, Grace did know about Auroraโs condition after all.
And yet she had chosen to hide it from her.
Did that mean she still saw Tessa as an outsider in this family?
At times, Tessa found Grace laughable.
She acted like she cared about Aurora, but when something truly happened, she just sat at home and sent an old man to handle it?
Was that real concern or just for show?
She truly couldnโt make sense of this household anymore.
Aurora had contributed so much to the company.
Even if she hadnโt earned any accolades, hadnโt she at least earned some respect for her efforts?
