Tessa hadn’t intended to agree at first, but after thinking it through, she had to admit he had a point.

And if one of the senior executives came along as a witness, it meant she’d have someone to back her up no matter what she said.

The smile on Tessa’s face widened. “How thoughtful of you. Alright then, you can come with me."

“As for these documents, don’t worry. While I’m acting as interim general manager, I’ll make sure to carry out my sister’s work responsibly.

“I’m part of this company, too. You don’t need to treat me like an outsider. If the company suffers, I suffer as well. No one understands the importance of our interests more than I do.”

Her words earned nods all around.

When it came to the company’s bottom line, for once, everyone was in agreement.

After all, they’d all invested heavily.

The company’s stock meant more to them than their own lives.

Ian watched as the executive followed Tessa out the door, a gnawing unease twisting in his gut.
