Hearing Lucas’ response, Tessa was fuming. How could this man be so stubborn? What was she supposed to do with him?

At that moment, Kenneth saw his chance to step in. It was time for him to shine! He immediately stepped forward and blocked Tessa’s path, signaling to Lucas to hurry up and push the wheelchair away.

Tessa gasped in surprise. “Let go of me! You’re all in this together! I’m calling right now!”

“Miss Walton, don’t be so hot-headed,” Kenneth said, his voice smooth and soothing. “The weather’s starting to warm up. It’s better if we stay calm and gentle, don’t you think?” He smiled, his charm almost hypnotic, like a dark figure in the night, even his voice carrying a seductive tone.

Wendy stood to the side, stunned. She hadn’t realized her brother had this side to him. How had she never noticed before? He was so good at this. Could he have been some sort of enchantress in his past life? Had he just never shown it before?

Wendy was genuinely fascinated by this revelation.

Tessa didn’t even realize when Lucas had left. As for being stopped, her anger flared. “What exactly do you want to do?” She watched Lucas’ figure slowly disappear from her sight, her heart racing with anxiety. Great, if he really left now, it wouldn’t be long before Aurora woke up.

Jackson, watching the drama unfold, stayed in the corner, too scared to speak. It felt like watching a battle of gods. What did someone like him have to say? It was ridiculous.

Now, Lucas was gone, and even Tessa couldn’t stop him. He had done all he could. At this point, even if something happened, it would be impossible to blame him. Thinking this, Jackson suddenly felt a strange sense of relief. This way, Aurora wouldn’t be stuck in the hospital, and there wouldn’t be a constant stream of people coming to him.
