He had to deal with each one of these people. Did he still want to keep working at this rate? It was wasting too much time.

Jackson dared not speak, merely watching as Kenneth tried to comfort Tessa. But Tessa’s emotions were still all over the place. She even seemed like she was about to run after Lucas. It was clear that if she couldn’t stop him, she wasn’t going to give up easily. Watching this, Kenneth began to lose his patience as well.

“Are you done yet?”

“No!”

Tessa heard the irritation in Kenneth’s voice, and she shouted right back, “If you think I’m annoying, then just let go of me! Don’t stop me here, it’s pointless! You’re so annoying!”

Tessa’s temper flared completely. At this point, with Lucas already gone, there was no point in pretending to maintain any image.

Wendy, watching her brother being yelled at, couldn’t hold back her frustration. She stepped forward to confront Tessa. “What’s your problem? This is my brother! He’s been comforting you for so long, and you’re acting like this? How ungrateful can you be?”

Tessa scoffed. “Did I ask your brother to help me? A bunch of self-important fools.”

“How dare you speak like that?” Wendy, with her own short temper, couldn’t hold it in anymore. Tessa’s words had completely pushed her over the edge. “Why are you so upset? You don’t want Lucas to take his wife away? Could it be you’re the one who’s been messing with things? Are you afraid if she wakes up?”

Although Wendy didn’t like Aurora, right now, unity was the most important thing. Kenneth had already explained the situation to her, and she wasn’t a fool. She knew exactly what would benefit her in the long run. It was really a simple matter. At this point, Wendy was very clear about which side she was on. There was no hesitation in her mind. Her brother had already laid everything out for her, and if she still didn’t understand, then she was truly a fool.

Tessa, watching the scene unfold, was left speechless. And with a hint of guilt, she didn’t know what to say anymore. Sometimes, she wondered if what she was doing was really right.

But then she quickly reassured herself. After all, she had already committed to it. The world was for the brave. If she kept hesitating, she’d end up accomplishing nothing. Once she made up her mind, she knew she had to act boldly. There was no point in worrying about every little thing.

“I can’t bother explaining things to you.”

With that, Tessa stormed out. Whether it was guilt or something else, Tessa didn’t know how to face Kenneth and Wendy now. Especially with their questioning looks, she had no idea how to respond. Since she couldn’t explain herself, the only option left was to avoid them. After all, this wasn’t the first time she had done something like this.

Kenneth checked the time, and seeing it was about right, he watched Tessa walk out without stopping her. He had already helped Lucas control the situation, and he knew this would be a credit to him.

“Brother, do you think… this was really Tessa’s doing?” Wendy asked the question, her voice filled with unease, a cold shiver running through her at the thought.
