Listen to this chapter:

"For the past few days, Aurora hasn't woken up, and as her sister, I'm naturally worried."

"Yes, I know," Grace agreed, though she wasn't sure when the relationship between the two sisters had become so close.

But at this moment, Grace understood it was best to go along with Tessa's words. After all, she was the only one who knew the full story. Pleasing Tessa was important.

Seeing Grace respond this way, Tessa let out a dramatic sigh, feigning difficulty. "Mom, if you really don't believe me, I can have the doctor come to our house and explain everything to you in person."

"He's Aurora's attending physician. If you don't trust what I'm saying, maybe you'll believe what the doctor says. After all, I wouldn't joke about my sister's health. There's no reason for that."

Grace sighed, and Tessa could hear the frustration creeping into her tone.

"Alright, Tessa, how could I not believe you?" Grace explained, "After all, she's my daughter too. I'm just a little frazzled from all the worry. I hope you can understand." Tessa smirked inwardly, knowing full well that Grace still favored Aurora.

But on the surface, she played along with Grace's feelings. "Of course, Mom. I may not understand others, but I know you well enough."

Tessa smiled sweetly on the phone. "Mom, I can tell you all this because I'm worried about Aurora."

"But my brother-in-law seems to have a problem with me. In front of him, I'm practically nothing. I've really had no choice."

Grace's face darkened at these words. She was also starting to get angry. After all, Tessa was still Aurora's sister. The way Lucas was treating her was simply unreasonable. It was just too disrespectful.

This, in turn, made Grace feel some resentment toward Lucas. "Alright, leave the rest to me," Grace said seriously. "Aurora is still my daughter, still a member of the Walton family. It's not Lucas' place to make decisions."

"The doctors have already made it clear how serious the situation is. If he continues to push his way, then don't blame me for being rude."

Hearing this, Tessa's excitement was nearly impossible to hide. Sure enough, it was better to have Grace handle things like this. No matter how much Tessa said, she wasn't an elder. Even if she spoke up, no one would listen to her. It felt a bit demoralizing to admit, but there was nothing she could do. Right now, in front of Lucas, she was indeed powerless.

Chapter 579

Not to mention, even someone like Wendy, who had no sense, could throw around accusations about whether Tessa was behind this. How could Lucas not notice something was wrong? That was, of course, impossible.

With a sigh, Tessa said to Grace, "So, Mom, I'll leave the rest to you. I really have no other choice."

Grace hummed in response. She heard the helplessness in Tessa's voice and, with concern, said, "Alright, you've already done a lot for the company. You've worked hard."
