Listen to this chapter:

Judy smiled softly. โ€œIf I didnโ€™t believe in you, I wouldnโ€™t still be by your side, talking to you about all of this. I just hope you understand that. I really think we could use a little more honesty between us and a lot more teamwork.โ€

Her words stirred something in him. Now he could finally see what had changed about her. The old Judy had been like a delicate vine, completely reliant on him for support. But now, she was different. She had her own career and life. Even without him, sheโ€™d be just fine. That thought made him admire her even more. Strangely, he even saw traces of Aurora in her now. Maybe that was why he felt more drawn to her than ever.

Wasnโ€™t this the best of both worlds? He had both women in some form. Who else was lucky enough to say the same?

โ€œDonโ€™t worry. Iโ€™m heading back now to get the team working on that proposal. Hunt Enterprises is going to secure that land, no question.โ€

Seeing how serious he was, Judy finally felt at ease. At least he had some drive left. He knew what needed to be done. There was no need for her to spell it out anymore. If he was still clueless after all this time, she really wouldnโ€™t have known what to say.

โ€œAlright then. Just take care of yourself too.โ€

She spoke with gentle affection. It warmed him to the core. He really was lucky. How else could he have ended up with someone like her?

โ€œDonโ€™t worry. I will.โ€

With that, he didnโ€™t linger any longer. He turned and left, heading straight back.

Once Joseph was gone, Judy rolled her eyes with a dramatic flair. What kind of brainless man was that, seriously? Sheโ€™d spelled it all out, and he still didnโ€™t get it? Did she really have to say everything so bluntly? She honestly couldnโ€™t remember what sheโ€™d ever seen in him. It had to be a delusion.

After venting her frustration, she turned back to her work, already feeling the irritation bubbling up inside her. Everything she was doing now was just to push that useless man into finally coming up with a way to take down Walton Corporation. If Aurora woke up in time, things would get much harder.

The reason sheโ€™d been so anxious lately was because Wendy had messaged her. In the message, she made it clear that Aurora had been taken abroad by Lucas for treatment. Originally, there were concerns that something might go wrong during the journey and she wouldnโ€™t wake up. But now, all her vital signs were stable, and it was only a matter of time. With the quality of medical care abroad, it was only natural the odds had improved. Everything Wendy said pointed to the same thing.

And when Judy read that, her mood darkened immediately. Sheโ€™d always known this day would come, but not so soon. She didnโ€™t expect Aurora to actually stay unconscious this long. After all, sheโ€™d once dominated the corporate world like no other. If she woke up, it would only be a matter of time before Walton Corporation returned to its former glory, maybe not even that long.

Now Judy understood something very clearly: She had to land a serious blow on Walton Corporation before Aurora came back.
