“Come on, it’s no trouble at all. You don’t have to be so polite with me,” Megan said with a smile, clearly unbothered by the matter. "The way you look at it, we’re both doing this for the same person. After all, Aurora really is an amazing person.”

Leonard nodded in agreement. “Yeah, she’s like the sun—full of boundless energy.”

And that was exactly why he couldn't help but be drawn to her. He wanted to leave a vivid mark in the story of Aurora’s life. Timing really did matter. This time, Leonard felt completely defeated. Even so, he still wanted to stand by Aurora as a friend, to look out for her. That, in itself, was already a good thing.

Megan noticed the shadow in Leonard’s expression. She couldn’t quite tell what he was thinking, but she could more or less guess. Because of that, her guard against Leonard subtly went up. “Since you’ve agreed, you’d better stick to it.”

Leonard looked at Megan’s serious expression and couldn’t help but feel a little amused. He didn’t expect that even now, she still didn’t completely trust him. He honestly didn’t know what to say. Should he say Megan was just being cautious? Or that she was too guarded for her own good? “Alright, don’t worry. Whatever you ask, I’ll listen and do it properly.”

Hearing that, Megan finally felt at ease. “Alright then, come with me and help me change the flight tickets."

Leonard looked a little confused. “I checked before I came. I’m on the same flight as you, no need to change it.”

Megan emphasized, “It’s still safer to sit together. That way, we won’t get separated after landing.”

At first, Tessa thought they were heading to board the plane and grew a little anxious. But when she saw they were just going to the counter, she finally relaxed. Tessa watched Leonard, her fists at her sides slowly clenching. She really didn’t understand—after all this time, no matter what she did, she never earned anyone’s approval.

Tessa let out a cold laugh. Of course, Julian’s silver tongue was as deceptive as ever.
