Listen to this chapter:

No matter the time or place, he always knew how to charm people effortlessly.

But Tessa didnโ€™t care how Julian saw her; she had her own priorities. She always stayed clear-headed, fully aware of what she was doing and what she aimed to achieve. Nothing else mattered. The only thing that truly did was whether Aurora would wake up or not. Tessa had always known exactly what she wanted. She also knew the real reason behind this trip abroad. Julian actually admired that about her. As he looked at her ambitious face, he couldnโ€™t help but feel a bit of awe. There were times he even thought, with that kind of drive, Tessa was honestly quite impressive.

She definitely had ambition. And if given the chance, for some reason, Julian genuinely believed Tessa wouldnโ€™t do any worse than Aurora. In fact, he was fairly certain of it.

Tessa glanced at Julian, who seemed lost in thought, and rolled her eyes. โ€œAlright, stop standing there like a statue. Everyoneโ€™s about to board, and youโ€™re still spacing out. If they close the gate, Iโ€™d like to see what youโ€™ll do then.โ€

Julian quickly pulled himself out of his thoughts and hurried to catch up with Tessa.

Meanwhile, Megan heard the boarding announcement over the speakers and turned to Leonard. โ€œAlright, itโ€™s time for us to go.โ€

โ€œGot it,โ€ he replied.

With that, they both stood up at the same time. As Megan and Leonard prepared to leave, they didnโ€™t realize they were being followed. Tessa and Julian tailed behind them, refusing to fall behind even by a step, afraid of missing their window.

After boarding, Megan and Leonard quickly found their seats and sat down. Because Leonard didnโ€™t know exactly where Meganโ€™s seat was, he changed his ticket just before boarding. In the end, the two of them ended up sitting together.

Tessa figured Megan would definitely book first class, so she deliberately avoided it and bought an economy ticket. Though the conditions were rougher, she was willing to endure anything if it meant keeping Aurora from waking up. This was only the beginning; there was nothing she couldnโ€™t tolerate.

Julian, however, was clearly uncomfortable with the environment. Under Tessaโ€™s warning gaze, he had no choice but to sit down quietly. He was the proud heir of the Hayes familyโ€”when had he ever been subjected to this kind of discomfort? It was laughable.

Chapter 617

But when he noticed that Tessa wasnโ€™t doing much better, yet still kept silent and endured it, he closed his mouth and stayed put. He couldnโ€™t possibly let it look like he was more delicate than a woman, could he? No matter what, he had to show he could take it like a man. Everything else was bearable.

Seeing Julian finally settle down, Tessa also relaxed a little. She knew perfectly well he was a pampered heir. But since they were tailing someone, it was best to stay cautious no matter what they were doing. As for the rest, it was no longer within her scope of concern.

The only thing that mattered was getting hold of Walton Corporation. If her mother insisted on favoring Aurora, then sheโ€™d simply take the company for herself.
