Chapter 633

โ€œThatโ€™s more like it. You need to keep our mission and shared goal in mind at all times.โ€

Tessa leaned in and planted a kiss on Julianโ€™s cheek.

โ€œCheer up. This time, the dosage is strong enough to keep her under for two months. Thereโ€™s no need to worry about it wearing off too soon.โ€

Sheโ€™d already instructed the doctor to increase the dose, extending its effects.

That way, there was no need to panic about what came next.

As long as they stuck to the schedule, everything would go according to plan.

โ€œAlright. Donโ€™t worry,โ€ Julian said.

Tessa kissed him again, then once more. โ€œIโ€™ll be waiting for good news. Youโ€™ve got this.โ€

Julian gave a short โ€œmm,โ€ his expression still a little serious, but clearly more composed than before.

The tension on his face had eased.

Just moments ago, Tessa had whispered in his ear that once the general manager position was secured, theyโ€™d move forward with marriage plans.

That would solidify the investment from the Hayes family, and their future would be smooth sailing from there.

With that thought, Julianโ€™s mood lifted considerably.

He even reached out to wrap an arm around Tessaโ€™s waist, ready to head back to the hotel.

But Tessa pulled away. โ€œNot yet. Wait until itโ€™s done.โ€

โ€œWe still need to keep an eye on things here. I donโ€™t believe Lucas is going to stay by Auroraโ€™s side forever.โ€

Seeing how serious she was, Julian dropped the playful look and turned to focus on the hospital room ahead.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Megan and Leonard found themselves in an awkward silence.

Leonard rubbed his nose. โ€œSo, uhโ€ฆ where do we go now?โ€

โ€œObviously, we find a hotel,โ€ Megan replied casually, sipping her tea like this was nothing new.

Leonard raised an eyebrow. โ€œYou seem to know your cousin pretty well, huh?โ€

โ€œGrowing up, he was basically the name on every adultโ€™s lips,โ€ Megan said with a sigh. โ€œEven if I didnโ€™t want to do something, they would threaten me with stories about my cousin.โ€

She exhaled again. โ€œItโ€™s been so many years, but I still feel nervous every time I see him.โ€

Leonard looked confused. โ€œHeโ€™s not letting us see Aurora anyway. Maybe we should head back for now and figure out another way?โ€

Megan, however, remained calm. โ€œRelax. My cousin might have a sharp tongue, but heโ€™s softโ€“hearted underneathโ€ฆโ€

She paused, glanced at Leonard, and added, โ€œWell, at least when it comes to me. As for you, I have no idea.โ€

Leonard couldnโ€™t help but let out a helpless chuckle.

Watching the little expressions on her face, he found himself wonderingโ€“how could a girl be this adorable?

He laughed. โ€œYou donโ€™t have to say it. Iโ€™m pretty sure he hates my guts.โ€

After all, theyโ€™d gone headโ€“toโ€“head before.

Burying the hatchet now? That would be a long shot.

Megan grew curious. โ€œDo you still like Aurora?โ€

The question caught Leonard completely off guard.

He stood frozen, not expecting Megan to ask something so blunt.

For a moment, all he felt was awkwardness, followed by a wave of uncertainty. โ€œIโ€ฆ honestly donโ€™t know.โ€

Even though he wasnโ€™t sure what he really felt, he still tried to explain what had been on his mind.

โ€œWith Aurora, itโ€™s more about admiration and gratitude. Now that I know someone else is taking care of her, wouldnโ€™t it be wrong for me to interfere?โ€
