Once she woke up, the first person Aurora was going to confront was Tessa.

Just as Megan was sobbing uncontrollably, a yellow kitten suddenly darted in.

With a sharp “meow,” it leapt up and scratched across one of the thug’s faces before anyone could react.

Then, in a flash, it sprang up onto the wall beside them.

She recognized that was the same kitten she’d fed at the mouth of the alley.
