“Some even said you’d eloped with someone… there were rumors flying around, all kinds of them.”

By the end, her voice had grown quieter and quieter.

Because only then did she suddenly realize that Lucas was still standing right there.

“Don’t worry, Miss Aurora. I’ll guard the front desk with my life. You can leave the image of this lobby to me. I’ve got it covered.”

“Now go ahead and keep busy. I need to head up to the office.”

The receptionist watched her leave, calling out, “Alright, got it!”
